Information
An interesting and rare shrimp in the United States. There are few people breeding these stateside and even less offered for sale. Indian Whitebanded shrimp have distinct white bands on their backs once they reach maturity. The bands are more evident on the females. Under good conditions, mature females will carry eggs regularly, however the young are extremely slow growing and do not display much in the way of coloration until they hit maturity.
Peaceful shrimp, slow moving. The Whitebanded prefer to spend their days lazily picking around the tank, they should be kept with peaceful community fish in a well planted aquarium. A bit shy at first, they will become more visible once they have had some time to settle into their home.
