Shrimp keeping has been a popular hobby in the far east as well as in parts of europe for the last 15 years but is relatively new to the United States. Despite these being fascinating creatures, most pet stores do not carry freshwater shrimp and there are few breeders in the U.S. (though the number is growing).
Our goal is to bring both entry level and rare freshwater shrimp to hobbyist in the United States. The Shrimp Spot supports local research and school projects in an effort to spread the hobby. In addition, we offer discounts for Aquarium and Aquatic Plant club orders. We also exchange breeding stock from time to time, if you are a breeder

Here at The Shrimp Spot we want you to be happy with your purchase, we only ship healthy well adjusted juveniles. The shrimp you will recieve come from species only planted tanks. They are not kept in holding tanks where they are stressed and half dead by the time they get to you. Each shrimp is individually inspected prior to shipment and only the top quality specimens are sent. We have almost 10 years experience in freshwater invertebrates and are always happy to answer any questions or offer ongoing support to you and your shrimp.
