Shipping Policy
All orders are packaged and shipped professionally. We have been mailing shrimp for several years, both domestic and international with a very high rate of success.
We ship using reinforced boxes, styrofoam inserts, and with Kordon breather bags. All bags will include Java Moss for the shrimp to cling to while in transit. For colder months or destinations, we also include a heatpack to keep your shrimp comfortable. The package is properly sealed using 3M tape. We then wait until late in the day to hand deliver the package to the Post Office to minimize the time the shrimp sit in the cold. Our local post office is very accomodating and they work hard to handle our packages with extra care.
Orders are typically shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays with an average delivery time of two days (so if your order ships Monday you will receive it on Wednesday in most cases).
Shipping Costs
There is a flat rate charge of $8.00 per order for orders up to $100.00.
Orders over $100 have FREE shipping.
Domestic orders: To the continental 48, our primary method of shipping is USPS Priority (flat rate $8.00). We can also ship UPS or FedEx if requested, if you choose to use one of these carriers or USPS overnight, you will pay the actual shipping costs, please contact us for a quote.
International Orders: Please contact us using the Contact Us tab to your left for a quote. We ship to all international locations with the exception of Italy and Spain.
All orders ship from our Sharon, Pennsylvania location.
DOA Policy - 100% Live Arrival Guarantee*
The Shrimp Spot stands behind the quality of our shrimp. We are proud to offer a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee* on all domestic shipments. We have an outstanding record of getting the shrimp to their destination alive and happy. If you should recieve any Dead On Arrival (DOA) shrimp, please follow our simple 2 step claims process as outlined below:
1) You MUST be home to recieve the shrimp on the first attempt, if USPS has to make multiple attempts to deliver, this will void guarentee.
2) Please take a clear photo of the

This photo must be taken and sent to us with 5 hours of reciept. It can be emailed to
info@TheShrimpSpot.com or you can send it through any of the contact links on our site.
We will respond with any follow up questions and then discuss how we will correct the problem. The Shrimp Spot reserves the right to replace the dead shrimp or refund the difference at our discretion. If we reship shrimp to you, we will also cover the cost of shipping (many other breeders will replace the shrimp but require that you pay shipping again) If we choose to refund the difference, the refund will be processed within 24 hours and refunded to your payment method. (i.e. if you paid via paypal, refund will be issued back through paypal)
