You'll do fine same as neos just a little better water quality. Take a little longer to reach breeding age. Not much different if your tuned to what they need.

I have java moss and I think Christmas moss that won't stop growing! We use a refugium and have about 10 gal of moss at this point in addition to what is in the tanks... had no idea that would happen!

Don't worry about the planaria you got a bigger issue the color gravel selection... Sorry for the smart comment.
Dose the fenbendozole (3 treatments) crank up the air bubbles cause the system may take a hit from the dead planaria. You don't have to worry about loosing the buffer capacity because you have inert substrate. Clean the tank by siphoning all the dead planaria out of the gravel.

Not as much as a canister imo, I also don't touch the substrate. I use Ada soil, don't feel the need to clean dirt lol.

Yea I have alot of tanks so hang on the backs were too much for me to plug in. I found alot of the times would be too much flow in the tank for them, plus add the cost of filters on top of that.Sponge filters I used one air pump, filters run around 2.50$ initial setup. Haven't changed one in a few years and my tanks are crystal clear. Shrimp don't ever produce enough waste to need a high turnover rate and extra mechanical filtration.

Agree, typically items under 50$ and not alive are fine waiting. Shipping cost deters me alot of time when shipping is the same cost or even some cases more than the item I'm buying.

Does it really need to CO2 to survive or can it be kept without it?

Speaking from my own experience with USPS FIRST CLASS MAIL - I have shipped over 2000 packages this year for my etsy shop using first class mail, and not one was lost. When items are cheap and not really a big risk, then first class has been more then reliable in my experience. And as for time, they usually arrive in 3-4 days which is not long. Very rarely does it take longer then that.
 
So I understand why people want first class as an option for low cost parcels. Just makes alot of sense, especially if you want to order just one or two ledges. keeps the price down for the buyer.

Strange though I have ADA soil in all my tanks now and my neos thrive. I switched about a year ago as a test and they are breeding good for me. I'll have to test my PH as I haven't in probably 6 months or more lol.Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I also recommend a http://www.jehmco.com/ pump from these guys. They actually use thier pumps in the hospital I work at in patient rooms and you can't hear them.

Save your money and spend the extra to get an alita. I have one running for 5 years and haven't touched it. Plus have more than enough air, I'm actually over capacity from what people say but I have to still bleed off air. And it's quieter than multiple cheap air pumps and your running 1 versus 5-20 pumps.
