TheGardenofEder reacted to pucksr in Holiday Sales!
Quick question: I see the raccoon and prince bee shrimp.
First, trying to figure out if that prince bee is the "princess bee" paracaridina that was floating around earlier.
Second, i've heard that raccoons are just a type of bee shrimp or a slightly different species? which one is yours?

TheGardenofEder reacted to lordeon in Black Firday Sales!
Thank you Grant for the wonderful Blue dream shrimps.
After you shipped the package I was checking the tracking info every now and then just like waiting for Christmas present 😃
The package was originally supposed to be delivered on 2nd December as per USPS tracking. Just like other years at this time of the year, received notification that my package was delayed. I thought it is fine to be delayed by a day. But it was not a single day delay. Finally, I received the package on 5th morning. I immediately started opening it up with the apprehension that I will find a disaster with most if not all the shrimps will be dead. However, as I started to take the newspaper wrapper one after another like layers of onions 😄my fear slowly begin to subside. The packaging was awesome. Even after 3 days delay, I lost none of the shrimps and all the shrimps are healthy. Thank you so much.

TheGardenofEder got a reaction from NSinvert in how did my blue bolt breed this??...FYI she bred with another BB
Because your blue bolt is not a pure blue bolt. It was probably a blue steel. Looks like pinto and tibee

TheGardenofEder reacted to NSinvert in how did my blue bolt breed this??...FYI she bred with another BB
So I had bred my BB with another BB in a breeding tank and for the most part I have a lot of BB babies. I also have some that are pinto and crystal red patterns. Can I even get crystal reds from BB? Or would they be Taiwan bees?? I’ve just never seen this type of shrimp in the past.

If you can't tell I try and incorporate shrimp into everyone of my tanKS however we all know that this is just not possible in every tank. Now I Did start off with a few Red cherrys in their tank how ever when they grew up I had to separate them from my newts and other fish because I found out they can eat prity large foods. these are my lesser syrens they will get a bout 2 ft in length and they are both about a year old. If you look at all my set ups they are all there with the intention to breed, I don't know why but breeding animals and watching something grow up that you were apart of is one of the most amazing things and I'm happy to say I've got quite a few species under my belt but I have a lot more on my bucket list. So when ever I get into something I always got to buy at least 4 to try and get a nice breeding pair. Well one day my syren tank got a little algee so I threw in a pleco and one morning I woke up to the pleco on both of my male syrens, lesson learned something I never read on the Internet, now I don't keep plecos with any of my amphibians for that reason. So I have two very nice females right now. They are native to Florida and I work a farm where I have seen them before in her pond and I try every time to find one with no luck yet but hopefully one day I can get these guys to breed but kinds hard with two females. If anyone knows someone who has a male I'd love to purchase it. I'm almost done catching all my beta fry out of one of my tanks and then im finishing my 20g rank and I'll post pics when I'm done.

The next tank I'd like to share is my red rilli tank. I made these rillis my self crossing some of my cherrys and blue velvets. These are by far my hardest and most productive shrimp. They reproduce like crazy I always have babies running around everywhere and my 4 main females from my first clutch are always berried I've never seen one of them with out eggs. They eat more then my cherrys do as well.
Eventually I was able to pull enough blue culls out to start up my own blue velvet tank. I had only gotten a few blue velvets but never enough to have them into their own tank till the rilli started giving me all blues. I try to make note of the amount of all red and all blues I get from ever clutch, it's about two blue, one red, and I get another blue with a red head and a red with blotchy paterns, the rest are nice rilli paterns about 20 of them.

So back in Feburary I applied flea meds to my dogs just like I've done for the past 6 years of keeping shrimp. At roughly 1 pm. Only thing I did differently was I applied two doses to my big boy 140 lbs and i just happend to get my 72 inch lights in and thought there was no issue with the kids using the boxes for a sword fight just like we have done before. Around 4 or 5. Well after dinner and I got the kids to bed I sat down to play some call of duty and looked up and saw my fancy tigers zipping a zinging around the tank around 9 pm. Got my ladder out to take a closer look and saw the next tank also doing the same thing. Basically dog hair with the flea meds had gotten into all the open tanks in my living room where we had been sword fighting. Fancy tigers, dragons blood, pro, green tigers, tigers, tangtai, and tbs all took a hit. At one point I thought I was going to lose every shrimp in all 22 tanks that were contaminated. Shelby was in Atlanta and I had no idea what to do except jump into 50% water changes. I messaged a few shrimp friends and everyone just said damn sorry bro. Except Chaz Hing who told me to throw in some carbon. The only carbon I had or anything close to it was Aquachar that I just happend to have a few free sample from my buddy Brian Covey and quickly threw it into all the tanks. Within minutes I quickly saw my shrimp calming down and some flipped back over. Now I did lose some shrimp the tanks in the pic where the boxes are leaning on got hit the hardest. I really thought I was going to have to junk those tanks and restart from scratch on a few projects. However 2 months later and I'm happy to say all of the tanks are on the rebound. I even have babys in most of the tanks that were hit. Now really it took me so long to make this post because I wanted to see the long term effects I wasn't sure if the shrimp were going to breed or if it was going to effect the ph ect. Now I should of had lids on all the tanks that is on me and that has been taken care of now. However with out the Aquachar I should of easily been another horror story like I've seen many times in the past where pesticides have wiped out someone's colony or even their whole collection. I had a buddy who's mom bug bombed the house when they went to Disneyland. He put a bag around the tank and air pump and figured he was good. When he got home there was one dead shrimp in the tank. He used a net sitting on the counter that wasn't covered and it wiped out his whole colony of high grade fancy tigers. If he had just a bag of aquachar on him he could of prevented the whole massacre. Last but not least I need to thank Shelby Kaye Brown and Brandon Birdwell the two of them helped me keep it together and work through the night to save my shrimp.

Today I came across some green babaulti and just while I was aclimating then 4 of them berried up. Also got a baby taitibee that almost looks like a red king Kong dragon. More updates soon working hard to set up as many tanks as possible.

Green jades can have the golden backline but emeralds dont really seem to have them. Emeralds are more painted with the thicker shells and because of it some of them will turn blue or black in color.

Forgot to post here about aquashella but I took home 2nd in neo all colors with my painted fire reds, 2nd in neo rilli with my red rillis, 2nd in Crystal's with my super crystal red one stripe, and 3rd in hybrids with my nebulas or purple rusty taitibee. It might be possible but I would not recommend them like I would tigers. It would be risky but possible
