I was fortunate enough to find several females that all look like this in my pinto project tank. Future red & blue stee maybel??? There are 3 red ones that all have this same dark red spot under their carpace shell. The older they get the darker that red spot is getting.

If you have 100 breeding size females you should have 2,000+ shrimp in a few months lol. Also 5 males can handle it I seen 1 male breed with 6 females in 1 night.

So Pinto Mischling mother finally released her black eggs on Monday (Nov 16) took 29 days for them to hatch. The crazy thing is my Pinto Mischlings are breeding machines and shes berried again .

I have been working on my Pinto Mischlings for a bit now never allowing them to breed back to Mischling fathers ONLY Pinto fathers. So they finally started producing really good ratios for me. This female produced 4 Mischlings and 12 Pintos.

Here's a side by side of the Mother and Father. I was also lucky enough to find 2 Pinto babies she had come out of hiding long enough to snap a picture of two of them.

Soooo here's a cellphone pic of the Pinto Mischlings that were born roughly 4-5 days ago. The mothers are still caring the black eggs so waiting to see how they turn one once hatched.

Find it interesting how the Mischlings form so much faster then the pintos and both carried by the same mother so she only released the ones that were ready

If get a larger number build up of Pinto Mischlings might have to post a sale help get the community growing with pintos at fraction of the price I paid lol.

Since names for some of the shrimps can very from person to person I seen them listed as Mischlings, Facy Tigers (pinto gene), and even Tibee. So let me know what you guys think I should call my Mischlings so there's no confusion.

This ladies are been very stubborn about releasing these little eggs lol. This are my 4th generation of doing pinto male x pinto mischling female and been getting better results in # of pintos produced. Lucky I had this ladies in a separate breeding tank when I lost my main tank.

So its been 5 days since the eggs started to turn black and looked a dark brown at first, but have been getting darker by the day. I don't know how much longer this ladies have left to go so I will be trying to get pics of the first young born in this new tank.

Check out how dark the eggs are now.

1 week after setup and have my first berried female mischlings.

Another mischling female is saddled so in a few days might have another female berried. If this tank explodes with pinto mischlings I might have to sell some sooner then expected.

Ok finally did my first water test this morning since setup..... I know crazy

    This is the test results

    PH 5.5-6
    GH 6
    KH 0
    TDS 154
    Temp 76F

All the shrimp are doing amazing and have really colored up since moving them. Only sad thing is the berried female that I transferred molted, but this was something I anticipated so her eggs are sitting in a small net over the sponge filter with the hopes that they hatch.

Another thing I figured I mention is the fact that I added some of my pinto mischlings that I created in another project to see how they breed in this tank.

Here's some pics of the shrimp as of this morning showing off their nice colors.

Took out the old $5 extension tubes and try my luck at cheap macro photography of some of the adult pintos in the tank.

Last but not least I transferred all but 2 of my remaining Pintos into the new tank.

I was surprised with all the deaths in the original tank from the accident that all 3 females are plump with eggs!

The overall  design is simple with minimal plants. In the center as the focal point I have my rare Echinodorus sp Iguazu from Argentina 2009, and a tiny piece of mini pellia growing on mineral stone.

Also my sponge filter has this old over grown look from the mini pellia taking over it which the shrimp love.

So I got back today and another BB was dead :/ there have been a couple I've noticed that their shells seemed kinda "transparent". Not entirely see through tho. Those were the two that most recently died. I'll keep an eye on the tank but nothing seems out of the ordinary.
Also incase anyone is wondering. This is the tank that the moss is in.

I need to Trim back this tank so much

Woke up this morning and found a dead BB juvie. Blah. Figure I'll probably do a water change once I get home.
Still seeing the occasional babies every now and then. Really regret putting TTs on brown gravel haha.
In a different tank (cull/community) my moss decided to go crazy recently.

I've never seen the the pods and "little roots" from Java moss before. Kinda cool.
Hopefully the BB death was just a random thing and it doesn't happen again.
