Greenteam got a reaction from usgetata in too many males?
If you have 100 breeding size females you should have 2,000+ shrimp in a few months lol. Also 5 males can handle it I seen 1 male breed with 6 females in 1 night.

Greenteam got a reaction from svetilda in too many males?
His not saying he ordered a bunch of males it's his colony is mostly males.
This seems to be the norm in most colonies I personally remove most males and toss them into a single tank housing all the bachelors. Some of the breeders I spoke with will do the same because like you mention large groups of males can easily kill the females and honestly I rather see males go before I lose any females.
You only need a few good males to breed with the ladies and if you get low grab some from your bachelor tank.

Greenteam got a reaction from Soothing Shrimp in 24 hour lightning?
First time I have ever heard moonlights helping with breeding.
Personally I give them a break. I notice even in the day shrimp will take cover in dark corners so I'm sure they like some dark time.

Another budget macro pic. If anyone ever used this simple extension tubes I would love to hear what you guys do for better quality.

Greenteam got a reaction from miwu in RKK Mischlinge and neos in one tank
The male behavior might just be the result of a female molting or ready to mate. In my mixing of neos with tigers and TB's I can't recall any issues if anything Neos tend to out produce TB's and can out compete them for food.
If cherry's are anything is resilient so I think they will be fine till the TB's move out.

Greenteam got a reaction from svetilda in Greenteam's 20L Restart
Last but not least I transferred all but 2 of my remaining Pintos into the new tank.
I was surprised with all the deaths in the original tank from the accident that all 3 females are plump with eggs!
The overall design is simple with minimal plants. In the center as the focal point I have my rare Echinodorus sp Iguazu from Argentina 2009, and a tiny piece of mini pellia growing on mineral stone.
Also my sponge filter has this old over grown look from the mini pellia taking over it which the shrimp love.

Greenteam got a reaction from svetilda in Greenteam's 20L Restart
1 week after setup and have my first berried female mischlings.
Another mischling female is saddled so in a few days might have another female berried. If this tank explodes with pinto mischlings I might have to sell some sooner then expected.
