  1. How long have you had your shrimp? You say your tank is 1.5 weeks old, did you set up your tank and shrimp on the same day? Good idea using a seeded filter.
  2. Should be one healthy tank for awhile.
  3. Watch out Crazyfishlady, you sound like you are falling into the fun hobby of selective breeding.
  4. My opinion? Wild neos. heh But others may have other opinions.
  5. It can be a sign of growing too fast too. What are you feeding? What temp is your tank? How long has your tank been running before introducing your shrimp? How long have you had your shrimp?
  6. I have no background in meds. I really have no idea.
  7. You will note the tan/white splotches on the sides as well. This leads me to conclude that a white neo is possible, but would take many years to develop. Similar to the first cherry, or first cbs. It would also be easy enough to work with the wild neo to make them look like tigers.
  8. Wild neo. Wild neos look very different from the neos that are selectively bred. This leads some to the mistaken conclusion that "my neo cross bred with *** and here's the result." or "What is this?" heh People often say wild neos are ugly, but I think they have their own beauty. Here's a badly taken pic of some of my wild neos:
  9. Rod, I think this crab is a blank slate for color patterns! Just having black on the shell means the opportunity for color mutations and selective breeding is there. It's very exciting! AND due to the fact crabs have vast amount of babies at once, it is a dream for selective breeders! Shrimping basics have to serve us well! phree, from what I read they are opportunistic, so would have to be kept with shrimp culls as they would probably eat them if they could catch them. Now after all that, I STILL can't find anything on their breeding.
  10. Shrimpie, they are 100% fully submerged. I'm sure each state has its rules, but I haven't seen anything on these crabs being outlawed.
  11. I like that these are a little larger and don't look so much like spiders. heh Plus- ready for this?- I found how to sex them as well!
  12. Ask when they'll have them back in stock, and if you are willing, I can order through you.
  13. Blues tend to look very much alike, so I can't say you didn't drop in a bv, but yellow saddles are pretty common. Eggs comes in a bunch of different colors for neos. I've had some bv have reddish saddles, white, green, etc.
  14. Have been researching as usual, and found that besides micro crabs, there is Parathelphusa Panthernia aka Panther Crab that also spends all it's time in freshwater. Haven't been able to find anything on breeding it though. It sure is pretty.
  15. Even if you DO know what you are doing! LOL
  16. We all have to help each other, my friend.
  17. Not sure if they would work the same. Sometimes a simple addition of an element makes a huge difference. It can change H20 to H2O2 for instance. (?)
