    From within the US, you cannot ship to Hawaii, or out of this country without paperwork. You also cannot received shrimp from outside this country without paperwork.

    I'm open to any tests anyone does for shrimping, Shrimpfan. I appreciate you sharing your results. I'll keep your info in the back of my head and at some point when I have some money to play with, I'll have to replicate your experiment. Do you think low ph could play a part in false readings?

    manticore, those are beautiful! Are those orange that have been bred for yellow tone? The middle shrimp in the 2nd pic makes me think they went this way.

    I'm still pretty new to fish. I just added an HOB to one of my tanks tank , but still keeping the double sponge running until the HOB is seeded. If I remember correctly, there's no need for carbon, so what should I fill the HOB with for beneficial bacteria? I have a top fin 30 on a 20T.

    I have a TDS of 15 and 0 gh with my RO. After remin ~100 TDS /6 gh for 5 gallons.

    Hmmmmm...I don't have a Hanna. However with API 1 scoop GH+ in 5g reads 6gh for me, which is what the container says it should.

    Lots of people are experimenting with half substrate tanks now. At least that gives area for more bacteria.

    For your TOD, bare bottom is possible as I've seen it. However substrate gives a lot more area for benificial bacteria to grow.

    Two things usually happen. One is that people try to impress you with something that may not be true when they find out you are knowledgeable about shrimp, the other is many times people not knowledgeable about the shrimp hobby have misinformation about the shrimp they have. Had it happen many times before.
