  1. Yepper. Or at least I do. I test once when mixing, and once more after stirring after it sits for a little while.
  2. Is anyone able to explain the difference between low grade crs and panda TB? B grade crs from Elite Inverts Red panda TB from google I don't get it. How do you know if a misch threw a panda or low grade crs?
  3. No biggie. You just know for next time. Let it sit for an hour or so, then stir again. Some let sit overnight. It's just to make sure everything is distributed evenly.
  4. Well ya got me there. Red and blue rili are the exception since they both came from the same source.
  5. rang, did you wait at all after mixing, or did you just immediately pour it into your tank? Sometimes undissolved powder and params still change for awhile after with gh/kh.
  6. "Do people mix their tigers the way they mix their crystals and their TBs and their Rilis?" People don't cross rilis. The only reason they are occasionally keep in the tank is because they won't breed with the other shrimp. If you cross rili x diff color rili, the colors don't look good.
  7. I have been selling them for $8 ea. Alpha Pro Breeders has them for $13 ea. Currently I have package deals of 3 cpo for $35 shipped with heat pack to continental US.
  8. Offer title: 3 Mexican Dwarf Orange Craysfish Offer Submitter: Soothing Shrimp Offer Submitted: 23 Jan 2015 Offer Category: Shrimp The new auction engine is up, so I may as well try it out for the forum. For auction: 3 Mexican Dwarf Orange Crayfish Little guys with BIG personality! Cambarellus patzcuarensis var. Orange are small brightly orange lined dwarf crays that do not eat my plants/mosses. They will eat the occasional small ramshorn snail. Currently they are non-sexed and between 1/2" and 1" They only grow to about one and a half inches. Some people keep them with shrimp and fish, but I've quickly become fascinated by them, so I keep them in their own tank. They are often used as a clean up crew. Because they are a crayfish, even as small as they are, they are really not picky about params. ShrimpFever has these params listed: pH – 6.0-8.0 gH – 3-25 kH – 1-15 TDS – 100-500 Temperature – 16-26C or 60 – 80F Mine are in Ro remin with SS gh+ to 300TDS. Easy peasy. A reminder to use hiding spots for molting. That's when they are the most vulnerable. A minimum sized tank suggestion would be a 5g with multiple hiding spots for 3. Larger tanks allow more room to be out in the open and observe their behavior. Shipping for insulated priority in continental US is only $10. I'll throw the heat pack in FREE. Let's have some fun, Bid NOW and GOOD LUCK! Click here to show this offer
  9. I messaged him and he said that the short nose didn't do well with hair algae. Instead they are moving shrimp from tank to tank and letting baby talapia eat the algae.
  10. Here's an intellectual one: Hobbyist: What shrimp do you like best? Selective Breeder: White cherry shrimp Hobbyist: But there is no white cherry shrimp. Selective Breeder: I'm into neo-futurism.
  11. Sam: Do you like video games? Wayne: I only like playing with "cards."
  12. How about this one: "Personally I'd rather watch $2,000 worth of shrimp, than eat them."
  13. We're all here to help each other. The fems do carry the color in neos. A good colored fem can at some point throw a good colored male. Keep that one for more breeding. You can improve male color once you start breeding the better males to the best females. Improving the color coverage of cherries is a classic project that never gets old. I'd love to follow your journal as you experiment and learn.
  14. Depends if it was imported or not. We don't have too many parasites in the US for aquarium shrimp, but I must admit that it seems like it may be *a* parasite with hers. Bacterial is usually cloudier until paper white. The way hers was described (unless I understood wrong) was small masses that filled the cavity. If it is, I have NO idea where it was picked up.
  15. Well, I still have projects going, but they take a very very very long time. You are familiar with my term trilogy (space, time, money), so will take a while before many new updates. Winter always slows down for me here, so when the breeding starts picking up- hopefully I'll have more news to tell. Do you have any ideas for working towards a shrimp goal for yourself?
  16. Pretty neat little shrimp. LOL I read recently someone said they could breed in a puddle. I just started cracking up!
  17. Did 5g water changes at first, then 10g toward the end. I have a 25g tank. (29g? I forget) All added water was RO
  18. heh I suppose it sounds heartless, but with my breeding hobby it's not worth keeping one if it infects a colony.
