  1. I hear ya. I used to make animal balloons, so one thing I HAD to learn was how to make a well tied knot.
  2. Nothing that depresses the heart more than receiving a wet shrimp box in the USPS mail, that's for sure!
  3. Offer title: Auction: 10 + 2 Malawa Shrimp Offer Submitter: Soothing Shrimp Offer Submitted: 05 Nov 2014 Offer Category: Shrimp Let's try out this auction setting. For auction: 10 Malawa + 2 more in case of DOA. Starting at only $1 !!! ***The Malawa Shrimp are NOT known to crossbreed with ANY other shrimp!*** Pic is of Malawa on a 12" leaf. Often they have tiger stripes, and colors can range from reddish-brown, greyish-black, blue, to greenish-clear. [Please don't ask for specific colors since they all have the same genetics.] Keep in mind, to my knowledge no one has bred a color strain of these yet, so the opportunity is there- especially since these will pretty much outbreed cherries any day! US Continental shipping only $10 priority insulated box. Good Luck! If you are looking at this in the Market section rather than the market tab, you'll have to click on the "show offer" button below. If using phone to view this, you may be directed to a random link. (?) Click here to show this offer
  4. I agree that the kordons are not as strong as Ultimates. However since I wrap my Kordons in newspaper anyway, it adds extra strength and I've never had a bust.
  5. Man, I hate tragedies. Mine and anyone else's! Here's keeping fingers crossed yours will be fine!
  6. BD are great for people that want to keep a rainbow of cherries in their tank without worry of wilds being caused by crossing colors.
  7. There's a price history for Amazon? That could be handy. What's the site?
  8. LOL One guy used to pee on his filters to get them started.
  9. My son has aspergers, so I know what you are talking about as well.
  10. I'm being overrun! LOL 10 nodes for $4.95 SALE: Make that 20 nodes for 4.95! Need more? Let me know. I have lots of nodes! YOU tell me ho it want it shipped! Continental US only.
  11. I prefer the feel of Kordon over Ultimate. Ultimate is more poly feeling while Kordon is more rubbery. Just a sensory thang. heh
  12. Buyer never came through, so I have the rest of my Ultimate Brand Breather Bags up for sale again. 65+ Ultimate brand breather bags (around 7" x 9.75") for only $15. Anyone want 'em? You pay shipping, so you tell me if you want them snail mail or priority. Fair?
  13. This shrimp information is given by christinenha This is an overview of Opae'Ula Care (also known as Hawaiian Red Shrimp or Halocaridina Rubra), and it's kind of long, so if you want to skip to a specific section, the times are listed below: 1. EcoSpheres & How I Got Into Opae'Ula (0:13) 2. Origins of Opae Ula (1:33) 3. Tank Requirements (1:52) 4. Water Requirements - Salinity (2:35) 5. Cycling Your Tank (3:49 6. Filter Requirements & Modifications (5:03) 7. Lighting Requirements (6:08) 8. Food Requirements (6:40) 9. Substrate (7:21) 10. Decorations/Plants (7:43) 11. Growth/Maturity (8:32) 12. Tank Mates (9:03) 13. Conclusion (9:34) *NOTE: The way my camera catches the light makes the tank look cloudy. Neither the lighting nor the tank look that way in person. The light is bright, but doesn't shimmer like it does in the video, and the tank is actually crystal clear. **I say both 7 and 8 months in the video because I have had the shrimp for 7 months, but I have been doing research and setting up the tank a month before that. =) Here is a compilation of sources I originally found for information about Opae'Ula shrimp: http://shrimpmart.bigcartel.com/ Channel: https://www.youtube....user/ShrimpMart This site has everything you need to start a shrimp tank of your own. It has pretty limited information about their care, but their YouTube channel has more in-depth information. I purchased my shrimp, snails, lava rock, shrimp food, and gallon of cultured water all from ShrimpMart.net. They have amazing customer service and are very knowledgeable about Opae'Ula care. Shipping was also really fast! http://www.fukubonsai.com/M-L2.html Fuku Bonsai has a TON of information on Opae'Ula. I based most of my research on this site, but they do not sell the shrimp and their "micro-tanks" separately. Their tanks are basically little jars that don't look too aesthetically pleasing, so I decided not to purchase from them because I already had a nice tank set-up of my own. http://www.petshrimp...anredshrimp.php This site has pretty decent, general information about Opae'Ula and also has a page on how to set up the tank. I followed MOST of the instructions except for the RO/distilled water (I used bottled water), their no substrate suggestion (I used sand), and their recommendation of random food (I purchased food specifically for shrimp). http://www.ohmyopae....ADD-L-INFO.html This site kind of has a lot going on at once and has almost the same general information as petshrimp.com. I really only skimmed through this site because it pretty much has the same information as the sites I've already listed. http://iloveinverts....pae_Ula_Eng.htm This is another keeper's experience with raising Opae'Ula. This site has very specific information about parameters, what to do, and what not to do. Hope that helps! ^^
  14. With exceptions of occasional buyers that fly here to hand select high priced shrimp, I don't think we have any big exporters here in the states. After all with the major shrimp producers being in the same part of the world as the major buyers- and for cheaper than we would sell due to economy- who needs ours? heh
  15. LOL Of course you'll sell any offspring for "handling" costs.
