  1. I prefer Kordon, but for now the price has Kordon beat and are much more sturdy. Also the shrimp tend not to stick in teh bag when releasing. After these bags are done, I'll prob go back to Kordon again though. Just because I like the textural feel better.
  2. I do it for practical purposes, so I don't care if it looks messy.
  3. Great to have you here. How did you artificially incubate?
  4. I get mine at Menards. This is the type I use and then add 3/4" OSB on the shelves. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200493568_200493568
  5. Yeah. Fine if you have a heat sealer and are willing to do the extra work. I just don't like the extra work involved.
  6. I wouldn't worry too much on temp, but I agree with what Meta said otherwise. Also, have you done a reading on your gh?
  7. To me, in all this vastness of the universe, it seems a bit conceited to think as just one planet, we are the only ones with life. heh I'll post a link later that I find interesting. (on other computer.) I will add that as students in school, we have been taught a rather narrow view of life. Does it have to breathe O2? Some forms of bacteria do not need oxygen, and in 2010 a living animal was found that did not breathe oxygen: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wildlife/7570677/New-species-lives-without-oxygen.html Also, there's plenty of theories that allow creatures to be silicon based, and not carbon based due to hostile environments.
  8. You could do it that way, but it would be a different var. cws is a TB.
  9. You're banned again. The mod from that forum just read your post here. LOL
  10. LOL Awesome! I don't even get into "regular" spots and this idea was cool.
  11. I think the most popular may be the cpo. People really like the way they pop and stay small.
  12. Thought this was an interesting post by dreameryoyo on another forum. She is getting some beautiful shrimp from her crossings: "A lot of people ask me how to crossbreeding to get Tibee Shrimps. That's great that people have different ideas and thoughts. Here is my personal experience. Reasons I chose to go with Orange Eye Blue Tiger and Taiwan Bee Mischillings: Top 1: Pinto Shrimps are my top goal in crossbreeding tibee shrimp. You need to have mischillings or Taiwan bee shrimps in crossbreeding to have pintos from offsprings. If without Taiwan bee shrimps gene, you would never get pinto shrimps from offsprings. To be clear, Taiwan Bee Shrimps refers to Black King Kong Shrimp, Panda Shrimps, Shallow Panda, Wine Red, and Red King Kong Shrimps. If you want to get pintos faster: OEBT x Wine Red, you get red pinto from F2 or later generation OEBT x Black King Kong, you get blue or other dark color pintos from F2 or later generation When you choose Taiwan Bee Shrimps, you want to choose the most healthy and with strong breeding capacity Taiwan Bee Shrimps. 2: Orange Eye and Unique Blue Color From OEBT OEBT has been popular for long for it's unique blue color and orange eye. I want to keep those gene to my tibee shrimps, and my pintos. When you choose a tiger shrimp and a kind of bee shrimps, yes the hybrid offsprings are called tibee shrimps. You want to set a goal what kind of tibee shrimps you want. The recessive gene in my choices are: White Color Red Color Orange Eye Taiwan Bee Shrimp Gene You won't get those from F1, these character will show on F2 or later generation. And there are too many pattern and coloration from my F1s. I did selective breedings, and you can see my black tibees (F2/F3) show nice pattern and coloration. Offsprings from those black tibees could be black tibee, red tibee, and possible pintos. I have a few red pintos from my F2 black tibees."
  13. Many people just keep shrimp in the nets until berried and then let them free in the tank to have fry. The theory is that the larger room helps develop the fry, and they have more food to find.
  14. Doc owns an ecig website. Perhaps he can give insight to the best vapes.
  15. I've just started to tape the corners of the bags now. Not sure how I like that or not...
  16. I have a routine of washing my hands with tap water or dish soap before doing shrimp stuff. dish soap strips hands of oils, etc- and if I have to add gasoline or anything with chems on a day, I don't come near shrimp water with my hands. My wife thinks I've overly cautious. I think she's right, but I have my reasons.
  17. If I had shrimp as expensive as sbarbee, I may adopt the same rule.
  18. The simplest answer is one you won't want to hear. heh Switch the substrate to inert, and you'd be fine.
