  3. Would not be a bad idea to try the food in a clear glass of water first and see if it breaks down in 24 hrs thus fouling water.
  4. Traditional rili is nice, but splotched has it's charm, too.
  5. It's the only thing my crs will eat so far.
  6. Polished usually means run through a tumbler to be smooth and shiny. Do a vinegar test, and if no fiz, you should be fine.
  7. Congrats folks! And thanks for the RAOK, Ch3f.
  8. heh Many years ago I used to work at the library, and they used to give me stuff to find on the web (if there was anything) they couldn't find any info on.
  9. Just for kicks I dropped it in my Malawa shrimp tank. They are always ravenous. I bet it's gone by morning.
  10. Welcome! RO from the store machine is always a crapshoot on whether they changed filters or not. Do you have a TDS pen for yourself?
  11. Offer title: NanoMag Offer Submitter: Soothing Shrimp Offer Submitted: 07 Jul 2014 Offer Category: Shrimp Supplies I have a brand new Two Little Fishies NanoMag for small aquariums. Too small for my tenner. This is the type that you put the round circle on the outside of your glass wall, and the small square inside. The cling together via magnetic force and you scrub algae off the wall. Won't scratch glass, but be careful not to pick up substrate with it. $9 with $2 economy shipping. 12. Many organizations are like that. They start off for the better, and then lose their way. We all want to make sure aquatics exist in the wild, however we would like to keep some in our homes, as well. Seems to me that endangered aquatics could be around for a long time to come if offered to the pet community. In some cases, captive breeding by hobbyists have continued to ensure some animals exist that are now extinct in the wild.
  13. No, I'm not. I started to breed the marms for color, but they are so easily affected by food and environment, that I decided it was just going to get frustrating pretty fast not knowing if selection had done it or an unknown factor.
  14. Same here. I love their look and was interested in breeding, but flightless flies, etc just wasn't in my interest. I knew I suck at keeping cultures alive.
  15. That greenwater will definitely be good to use as food for your larvae though. My understanding is that the larvae are in brackish water, but mature to freshwater as adults. I don't know if adults would be okay in brackish /salt or not?
  16. I have marms, cajuns (as they were told to me), and schufeldti. I believe that color is affected by food. My marms eat snowflake and that brings out the blue in them.
  17. Louie, I absolutely 100% agree regulations should be put into place regarding how many to collect, what seasons to do it in, where they are allowed to be collected, etc. actually HELPS the fish not only recover, but thrive. This makes sense to me. In this way there is a booming population for all to enjoy in all forms. However to have an agenda like PETA or SSCS and want to ban the ownership/collections of animals altogether is not in my interest.
