  1. With shrimp it is not recommended that you clean substrate anyway as it can cause microspikes.
  2. Desperation. LOL CWB are different than goldens, but people still try anyway.
  3. The levers lift up from outside going in, but since they are at a 45deg angle, they don't lift from inside going out.
  4. I remember when chocolates first came out. Only fems were sold and for $100 ea. Now they are usually around $4 ea. or less and both sexes. I bought the first round of carbons for $15 ea, now they are less than $6 ea. Bloody Mary were offered at $20 ea, now they are less than $6 ea. Supply and demand. --- "So I'm a tad confused. Were talking about snows and goldens. And using the word mutation. So let's straighten this out a bit here. Mutation would mean that snows and goldens are tb. But there is speculation that there just white crystals. So are the tb or are they crystals." CWB (crystal white bees) come from TB, and *I think* have the name ghost KK as well. Snows/goldens are from cbs/crs and are a different kind of shrimp. Some people feel snows and goldens are a throwback to an earlier cross with tiger shrimp at some very early date in time.
  5. "Stay tuned for a full shrimp/price list." To everyone that doesn't know, Nick is a well respected importer of shrimp- and we all chomp on the bit when he has his sales threads. heh
  6. yep. A lot of "gunk" tends to clog up the filters fast, of course.
  7. Good reviews. I will say DON'T use Astaxanthin with NEO shrimp. It turns them bad colors. I know this from experience. I guess it may be fine for cards though?
  8. Extremely hard to come by. Crystal whites are thought to help strip layers of coloration. Ie Hulk from KK, etc. Kinda funny that people don't want to use goldens because it strips the white in crs, but will use crystal whites for TB to help strip the black.
  9. Nick! Great to see you here, dude!
  10. I haven't been in the reptile game for awhile, but piebalds were $$$ when I was keeping an eye on them. heh I agree price will come down, but the only time when America really gets new vars is when the prices come down elsewhere. Then they ship them over here for higher prices, and we have to wait for the cost to come down here.
  11. The USPS is losing money big time and is trying to figure out how to make ends meet. There are several govt people who believe if the post office closed it would be good for the other companies to pick up their business (fedex, etc) All politics, kids, all politics.
  12. Don't know... "communal boxes offer a safe, locked location for packages, doing away with the need for carriers to leave packages on porches and subject to theft and bad weather."
  13. Substrate to drop ph, and remin to raise gh/tds.
  14. That's almost perfect for crs. Drop the ph, raise the TDS/gh a little and you are there! You lucky person, you.
  15. Neither anymore. If Oblong has both, go for it.
  16. Some tap in different parts of the country are almost RO
  17. The others should do fine. Really depends on how the breeder managed them, but mine are used to the swings when needed.
  18. Going up in TDS is actually easier on your shrimp than reducing it. So for mine I do +/- 50 to 100TDS at a time (neos), and they do fine.
  19. Communal boxes may be the next step the post office makes, instead of delivery door to door. http://news.yahoo.com/committee-oks-end-door-slot-mail-millions-221201345--politics.html
