  1. OKay, so Anubias "White" isn't a buce, but Bucephalandra "grey" is.
  2. Cool. I'd be very interested in knowing if I can save some wattage.
  3. 1.5amps x 12 volts = 18 watts So each reel is 18 watts. How many side by sides do you think it would take to light up well under a shelf into tenners?
  4. How many rows/lights can the 12dc run? Can I do a whole rack or multiple racks for just 12dc?
  5. Go here for cheapest I've found: http://stores.ebay.com/cllpetsupplies/?_dmd=1&_nkw=foam
  6. I wonder if they would be bright enough for under shelves?
  7. Not with these. The other end is machined to be closed.
  8. Yepper. I use these to seal up the end: 5/8" Baitwell plugs Model 18951 Leave one valve fully open and run the IN line for air through that. Then I can use the other valves to go out to my filters. In this way I can daisy chain to each rack. The con is you have lots of airline. But if you buy a roll of airline for $20 or so, it pays for itself very shortly. I'm thinking of using colored electrical tape to wrap each airline at the valve, and put on the corresponding tank for easy ID about which is which. I also found that if I plug an airline into a valve, and cut it about 6" away- and then use an airline coupler to reconnect the two pieces, it makes for easy switching around of airlines if I need to. It's really hard to pull the airline off the valve otherwise. Since I figured that out, it's made things much easier. They look something like these: But remember, mine isn't for looks. It's just spit and glue and practical for me- which is why I don't really post pics of my set ups.
  9. I started with pvc on my rack and then got lazy and just used this per rack:
  10. LOL We need someone to figure out colors in shrimp. Unfortunately most colors are just cultivars from selective breeding.
  11. It's really neat to see how the characters grew and became fleshed out. Especially after Dave found out he was his own father/mother. heh
  12. I'd be very interested to learn your DIY on the lighting.
  13. season 10 is the referred to season I think. The running gag since it never happened. They had the special of coming back to earth and seeing that people thought they were just a tv show instead of "real" and referred to the season 10 as the previous wrap up (that never happened.) One episode after that was another trial to see if they would be accepted by the old fanbase, and it got rave reviews. So, they decided to tentatively bring it back. "Red Dwarf originally aired on BBC Two between 1988 and 1999, before Dave revived the show with the Back to Earth specials in 2009." Red Dwarf series 11 to air late 2015, says Danny John-Jules
  14. Some people also add a bleeder valve to lessen the strain on the pump if you don't have enough air outlits. This is so the interior of the pump doesn't wear out with too much back force. I originally did that by adding a ball valve, but when opened it turned LOUD again. Then I added a multiple gang valve with hoses attached and valves wide open, and the sound went low again. Did that for a while until I had enough tanks it didn't matter anymore. Is did make a hissing sound, but you could probably even lessen that by adding air stones on the end to make "mufflers." Then again, with discus- you can never have too much air through multiple sponge filters, I'm sure.
  15. Any news on the auction app? (I keep calling it an app, because I don't know a better word.)
  16. I mentioned it there, too, but I think TB came from tiger x crs. If anyone has the B&K #1 mag, I think a breeder mentioned that. Otherwise it will take me a day or two to find it.
  17. Sounds good, man. Most of mine is just jerry rigged. You blow me away big time. heh I have a large Alita air pump. It wil cost you more in the short run, but in the long run I think you will be very happy with it. When I first got it, I tried it out and it was LOUD! I was trying to find all kinds of ways to baffle the sound. But then I got smart and connected the hose running to the tanks to it and low and behold it turned as quiet as any regular air pump.
  18. +1 They just came out with a new episode..um...the year before last? Anyway, the network is supposed to pick it up again and scuttlebutt has it that it may be on again in 2015. The British episodes series run a little funny. In America we have half a year for new episodes, then hiatus for the rest of the year. British skip every other year to shoot and then show the episodes all year long.
  19. Where are you getting the LED tape from?
  20. Do you have any problems with the shrimp eating the exposed eggs?
