    It depends how big your tank is. If you use TDS up to increase your TDS, and you have a 10g tank or larger, you are going to go through it like water and spend $$$ too. How large is your tank?

    I only have 5 varieties of fish, and 3 of them are guppies. They are kinda notorious for eating fry. (sigh)

    I keep telling myself I'm going to set up a crs/TB tank this year. Went so far as to buy a canister exclusively for that. I'm still nervous though because the temps in my shrimp room here fluctuate crazy. Below 65 sometimes in the winter, up to 84+ sometimes in the summer. I want to try a new way of air conditioning in here this summer and see if it helps...

    I see it on my screen as bold. Not a problem right now, however as members grow, posts will too, causing a flip through pages to find previous threads that are responded to.

    The only ting I get nervous about with feeding live is that I don't want to encourage eating of fry.

    Ironically enough, if you have a huge amount of moss, the chance of hair algae is reduced because the nutrients get used up too fast from the water.

    TPT has a lot of great folks there. I just like this forum as an alternative site that allows a bit more freedom.

    I use the View New Content almost exclusively right now. As the forum grows though, I like to be able to enter a category and see what has recently been responded to as suggested. Otherwise I'd be going through lots of new posts in all categories that I may not have an interest in.

    Some people breed shrimp in another tank exclusively for use as feeders. It helps bring about conditioning for breeding.

    I've never seen the logs before. I'm interested, that's for sure. I'm slowly turning over to SS gh/kh. Are the logs going to alter my ph?

    Also, you don't need to use anything to get rid of chlorine with RO water. I do the same as octanejunkie

    Just dropped my GH down to that this year. Before I was more concerned with TDS, now I'm trying something different. At least when I feed up at the front of the glass and I can see most of the shrimp on feeding day anyway. heh
