  1. Wow! What terrific info! Can't get any better knowledge than from someone who keeps them. Thank you!
  2. Welcome to the forum! Agreed BM don't have a grading scale really. The most desirable is the see through.
  3. This is an interesting gadget if you have money to burn. SS would have to be placed over the holes for shrimp. http://www.reefgently.com/ Seems to me basically you could do the same thing by using an air valve and hanging one small dollar store bucket above another and doing the same thing . LOL
  4. I don't think roumor. I've heard the same thing for years.
  5. The redder/more pigmented the shrimp, the higher grade it is. The clear spots on the cheeks are called "ear holes" and are hard to get covered with pigment. It can be done though. The stripe is genetic. In fact, there are entire strains that have been bred for stripes. The dark spot behind the head is the guts. It appears more when they eat more. heh Welcome to shrimp spot!
  6. I know goldfish/koi and Talapia are supposed to be great for hydroponics because of the waste they produce. Some people use crays as well.
  7. Yep. They are about as challenging as first trying cards.
  8. Duff, have you seen the sarasinorum gecko?
  9. You've gotta love those "eyelashes" on the cresties.
  10. If they mixed the neos, unless you wanted to experiment with breeding and culling, they're genetic milkshakes and will probably take years to develop into any strain.
  11. ...although lately some blue cherry shrimp have been labeled blue jelly...
  12. I'm hesitant to provide information I'm unsure of atm. There's a ton of wc vampires, but 90% or more die. Others are home bred, but sometimes don't have the bright colors. Bob's tropical has them (mixed reviews on there as a seller), and Alpha pro has them. I'm still setting up my viv. I started with the idea of a 10 gallon, but I have these 3g long acrylic tanks I haven't done anything with. I think I'll use that instead, and go the plain and simple route. My plans with the carved styro just won't work as vampires like to burrow and dig. Plus, the only time they use water is for molting, so no use having a large area for that either.
  13. Who knows what the future holds? I wouldn't put it past the herp community to figure one out!
  14. They can have them, but not needed. Not to say I probably won't try my hand at mealworms too in the future.
  15. Bumping this thread since we've had interests in goldfish from members again. This member hasn't been on in a while, so if anyone wants to add information or more methods, feel free.
  16. Size is the major factor. Also, if the shell is see through enough to see a saddle.
  17. Ingenious DIY! Fish eat planaria all the time. Don't know about puffers though.
