Some strains are just smaller as well. My strain of BV I received years ago that I bred my DBV from are smaller than all other strains of neos I have. I haven't noticed any due to addition of shrimp though.

If you want he orange to spit out orange and the red to spit out red, no. They are both forms of the cherry shrimp and will interbreed. Recommended ph is 7+

Problem I had with neos is that sometimes they would get stuck and die in it. I think it caused some problems also in the O2 levels.

Malaya and Neos can't crossbreed. Besides, Malaya is a low order shrimp. -
That's just hair algae type. Unwanted in my neo tanks, but wanted I guess in cardinal tanks?

Welcome! You won't like the answer so much, but start to read posts here and you'll have a pretty good idea what's going on. Have an idea what kind of shrimp you are interested in yet, or are you still exploring your options? It's a big world out here. heh

Ultimately, when you get to your desired gh, you want to take out and add the same amount each water change (ie. 10%-20%) have the same gh in your new water to match your tank water's gh Add pure only when topping off what evaporated because the gh and minerals are left behind.

No. You are trying to take out the gh, so pure has 0 and will dilute what you have left after a water change- thus lowering gh.
