I didn't see immediate buffering.......it took some time.  Below are my first 15 or so days.
 
My guess is that if you off-gassed your RO water, it would be closer to pH 7, and the Controsoil needs time to buffer.  In fact, looking at the early results below, it looks like I didn't fully gas my water which resulted in initial pH rise on the first 3 days, then a slow buffering down trend.
 
Stay the course.
 

I just setup a 10gal this week with controsoil purchased a few weeks ago and my RO is 5.8 and the tank is 6.1. Not going through a cycle because I'm using a sponge that was pre-seeded.  All of my controsoil tanks are 6.1-6.2. Not sure what is going on with your tank ????????

I was fortunate enough to find several females that all look like this in my pinto project tank. Future red & blue stee maybel??? There are 3 red ones that all have this same dark red spot under their carpace shell. The older they get the darker that red spot is getting.

Sweet! Now I really cant wait for them to start breeding.

The taitibee you got from me will produce these. Breed the blue ones back to blue mosura shadow panda. I'm also breeding these back to bb to see what happens. I curently have one bb berried.

When you start selling these I would love to buy some.

Drip acclimation I usually do 1-2 drops per second, for give or take two hours.
 
Water changes ultimately depend on the volume of your aquarium. For instance I hear so many people drip in their water changes, but I don't have the time to do that or wait to ensure everything goes properly. I have 17.1g aquariums, I usually do a 10%-15% water change at max. I rinse my hands, wipe with my shrimp towel, and then pour fresh RODI water over one of my hands into the aquarium. With my canister filter the water added is usually diluted and dispersed quickly. I do ensure the temperature of the water is the same or very close.

I am from India and keep Indian shrimps and breed them.

The green babaulti and green hodgarti breed true and if some one is selling green babulti in orange, yellow color then avoid buying them. When the green shrimps are stressed they turn to orange and when orange/red there are very low chances of survival.

The green shrimp breeds true, and all the babies I got are true green.

About the breeding, if parameters are right then they breed heavily but the babies takes a lot of time to grow. Same with green babaulti and hodgarti. But the other babulti like white backed, zebra there babies grow a bit faster than the green ones.

In babaulti there is blue, black, orange color so check what exact species is there before buying.

Your right, its very hard. I was basing my post on new setup or re-doing the tank.

I've dealt with them too. I do not recommend dealing with them.

I would rather get an HMF from Swiss Tropicals and put a bag of purigen in the back. HMF kit is about the same price and will work circles around that filter.

I used the amaranth seeds from the below link, at the time they were $5.99.

I wouldnt think Eheims media would be the cause. Been using Eheim for 20+ years and never had an issue. Your situation is as weird as my shrimps hopping from one tank to another.

Made a large plant order ($280) in Aug. This order was a packaged deal. Low light required plants, supposed be certain amount of plants, certain types of plants. I didnt get everything I was supposed to and instead substituted and got some plants that required more lighting and the quality was very poor.  My brother purchased some RCS. They took his money ,3 weeks later he found out about his shipment and told him they ran out of stock, took to many orders and he would have to wait another 2-3 weeks. Dont take peoples money if you dont have the inventory. The reason why he found this out three weeks later is because it took them that long to reply back.
 
I have ordered from from several members and sponsors and they will tell you that Im very easy to deal with.
 
Now this could be isolated. I had warned my brother before hand and he wanted to roll the dice and take a chance.

I got some last week and they are coloring up like the ones in the pics.  I have one that is starting to look better than picture #3. You cant beat the price.
