got the Auras today. Looking awesome, gave me 15 so it all ended up evening out, with the food, shipping and extras it really broke down to about $17 a shrimp which is actually pretty good! Excited to start this new project! I recommend the HTN Inverts organic food too! The shrimp seem to like it a lot!
Buy those Aura Blues from Joe I'm sure you won't be disappointed

I won the auction, and got some from Joe, at $20 a piece from Joe and free shipping is a deal!! But as far as the auction goes its supply and demand my friend, for the last 6 months no one could get any unless you got some of the limited amount from blue crown for $40 a piece from germany. Had to jump on the opportunity, plus now I have some solid USA breed ones to mix with the imports to fortify my stock.

Vinn to answer your question. There is no difference in shrimp but a supposed difference in their tolerance. Who knows the exact water chemistry in a different continent so its always a concern of breeders when importing how they will acclimate to waters in your area. Since the shrimp were USA breed its always a plus for me knowing they have at least been bred in water from this continent lol. Never had a problem with any of Joe's shrimp either so for me its win win. I had talked to Joe and knew he was getting them soon as well so I was really excited at the opportunity to gain 2 different breeding stocks to start my own. That's usually my recipe to starting a succesful colony, get them from 2-3 different breeders to diversify the gene pool

jledermann got a reaction from Soothing Shrimp in Soothing's Vampire Vivarium
I carved a foam background out and painted it with quick crete, it was really hard to get the ph of the water to go down since theres so much lime in quick crete and eventually the epoxy i used gave out and the background came off

jledermann got a reaction from Louie in “Mount Sulawesi” Tank
No I never did, main problem was the tank was just too damn small and the top wasnt sealed. I will try them again when I find a more permanent residence. I just did not anticipate the level of evaporation

Also the key to these shrimp from what I found is get the tank on auto pilot and leave it alone!!! That's why I had such an issue with large amounts of evap. and topping off, the shrimp didn't like the new water even at the slightest temp difference, was adding "new" water daily so it wasn't the best situation.

+1 soothing.
Hulk is kinda that great white whale, I haven't been in the community very long but my eyes have been very open. I've yet to see a green hulk as depicted in illustrations and descriptions or even a stable line for that matter. I have about a dozen blue jellys and they darkend up to a very dark blue almost black and turn into shadow pandas. You are able to still pick them out sometimes next to a true shadow panda depending on the lighting in your tank but as far as green hulks go, you find them... let me know!!! haha
Just going to have to keep breeding mass colonies and hope for mutations and pick them out and run with them! If I had to guess a stable green hulk coloration may come down the line soon thru Aura Blue tigers and TB cross. Exciting time to be a shrimper

Unless you used some sort of anti tick or flea substance you should be fine just rinse your hands with clean warm water. But i repeat if you use ANY FLEA OR TICK KILLER THIS WILL SWIFTLY KILL YOUR SHRIMP. From personal experience

jledermann got a reaction from Wygglz in 10 gal Wine Red Panda and Shadow Panda tank
Been slacking hard. Got a macro lens for my s4 but pictures still arent great once they're on the computer so please forgive the quality, tanks been running for a few months now. Here is some updates pictures. All plants and kola wood provided by Han Aquatics, stick on ledges provided by Elevate shrimp. Shrimp from Joe's Aqua and shrimp scales. The shrimp are doing great I've been using basically the entire line of Low Keys food and SL aqua to change it up from Han Aquatics and DIsco Bee

jledermann got a reaction from trinacw16 in HELP Continuous Shrimp Deaths
Curious.... I have been feeding Borneo Wild Multipara for a few days now in small amounts injunction to other things to try and get some extra vitamins in their system and today has been the first day with zero deaths in about 3 weeks, granted the shrimp there were dying are down about 80% from the original so it could just be the healthy resilant ones left

jledermann got a reaction from trinacw16 in Drip acclimation WTF! LOL
Um is this a common concern because I'm currently drip acclimating one of my blue jellys to the tank I've been getting ready to have him be the test dummy and see how he does for a few days. I look in the pitcher he was in and was gone. No way he could escape until i saw this.... LOL

Welcome! I'm pretty new to this community as well, Joe's Aqua or Han Aquatics are 2 people I've worked with and have had great service and quality. There are many many more people on here though that have excellent stock as well. I would also recommend joining the Shrimps and Plants Auction -USA group on facebook, tons of great shimp going for great prices all the time. You can check down at the bottom of the forum categories and all those people and names are great places to check as well.
WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY FROM SHRIMPUSA.COM. YOU WILL GET RBed and you don't want that
