Brolly33 got a reaction from Soothing Shrimp in Thank you, ShimpSpot-eers
I have been watching an absolute religious war on the benefits of water changes over on TPT for the last 2 weeks or so. The thread is just full of all the worst kinds of internet zealots.
It made me realize how civilized, open and generally supportive the community here at Shrimp Spot is. And I am grateful for it.

11 Species of fissidens on this image in comparition... some are not determined now that is why i wil not write directly on the image. here the main species from left to right:
Fissidens fox
Fissidens idukki
Fissidens osmundoides (probably)
Fissidens sp
Fissidens rufulus (very seldom/ new to the hobby)
Fissidens rivularis Amaria Taruya (very seldom, there are very few that are keeping it)
Fissidens incurvus
Fissidens bhgamandala
Fissidens fazal
Fisidens sp (will determine it soon)
Fissidens sp (also wil determine it soon, probably bryoides)
i hope you like them all. simply ask if you find some of these interesting and you want to have them. Fissidens invurvus, rivularis and rufulus are really seldom. None of the above species comes from Poland, these have completely different origin.

Brolly33 reacted to plamski in Shrimps videos
Forum members have been asking me for shrimps videos.Plan was to make them early this year but busy schedule and some photo gear problem delayed the project.
Now after finding the right video camera and enough free time I'm ready to post couple of videos.
Will start with video showing 4 year project of High Grade Blue Bolts and Panda Mosura.
I'll try to add new video at least once a week.Probably to be easy to find them I'll post them all in this first post.
For better quality and fast buffering you can watch them in YouTube.

Brolly33 got a reaction from TomCruise in pH goes up with filter on
pH reading will fluctuate due to stray voltage in the tank water. With your filter running, take a glass of water out of the tank, then measure the water in the glass vs what is in the tank...
Also, if the pH meter is plugged into the same wall socket as your pump it could effect the meter. Test the water in the glass with pump running vs off.

Brolly33 reacted to ElevateShrimp in Biofilm Reactor testing for increasing baby yields
I've been testing moving media biofilm reactors in my shrimp tanks for about 3 months now and I am very pleased with the results. I tested it longest in my 29 gallon tank which had an prior issues with random deaths or cannibalism and very little babies to be found. After adding the reactor I'm starting to see tons of babies and my tank's cycle is definitely stronger as my media started to turn dark brown but has now faded to a light brown now that it is balanced.
I would love to hear your thoughts about using a reactor like this to create biofilm from their ammonia and nitrite and having it throughout the tank for shrimp to consume.
