Nikolaus777 got a reaction from huntingtrees in Vacuuming substrate- yes or no?
I always vacuum then check for shrimplets in the waste water.
Helps to lower my TDS in old tanks.

Nikolaus777 reacted to Shrimple minded in Light and airpump for 8 ten gallon tanks?
Couldn't agree more. I use the Beamswork LEDs on all of my tenners and have the Alita AL-15 running 6 tenners, 1 20L, and 2 lines into a 40B. Ample leftover power to oxygenate water pre-change and for any QT/temp setups I need to run. I'm running Finnex lights on the 40B and 20L.
The Alita is probably my best shrimping purchase to date.....that or my RO unit.
EDIT: I run individual 18-inch Beamsworks LEDs on the tenners....

Give them time to adjust.
I had PRL's do the exact same thing for 2 weeks, but then they have been going strong for 2 years.
Try natural foods like pumpkin or spinach. Also try snowflake food.

Lots of stuff in that tank, wow. Looks good.
I noticed one spec of the blue gravel in one of the riparium plants.
Don't let the fashion police see that, or you will get a ticket.

Nikolaus777 got a reaction from TheGlassBox in Thank you, ShimpSpot-eers
I saw this post the other day, such craziness.
I was thinking about making a cynical post like "myth of the cycled tank" to see if anyone would freak out.

Nikolaus777 got a reaction from Shrimp Life in Hello From Austin
Austin Texan here, and no we don't wear cowboy hats!
Like a lot of people I saw some Takashi Amano tanks about 10 years ago and said "wow" but in the back of my mind i also said "I bet I can do that!".
After on and off with all the junk that comes with CO2 and fertilizers, and the such, I then realized all I really cared about were the shrimp!
Ive been on TPT for years but always thought the shrimp advice was spotty and mostly trial and error, so I followed the people who cross post over to this forum about 2 years ago.
Sorry for lurking so long!
I collect shrimp, skateboards, colonel sanders, and some crazy toys.
