Well added about 75+ PRL on Saturday.
Even had a berried mamma. And a random blue velvet that tagged along haha

They came from tap water changed tank with co2.
So I hope they like my tank haha

    Most are pretty solid colors.

it waters down the tb gene by adding more crs. meaning you will have less and less chance of getting tb and more and more chance of just getting crs. the best way to get more tb is by adding a male tb to the mix

Try to decide on either Sakura shrimps or crystal shrimps. You'll probably have better success going in just one direction. Good luck!

Honestly. Taiwan Bees are picky, and in my experience when you first introduce them to your tank they won't eat manufactured/processed foods for weeks. Almost like they want to feel nice and cozy at home first. Then after 2-3 weeks try introducing various food(s) twice a week I usually do Monday and Friday. If they like it or are hungry they will eat/try it. Otherwise they will go back to eating biolfilm or algae.Gradually over the next couple of weeks you will learn what they like and what they don't.

I have had alot of success recently with MK-Breed Red Diamond and Black Diamond.

    Hi guys,

    Cheers from Istanbul/Turkey

After I got successful about my Cardinal tank (you can see the journal link from my signature) I decided to take my chances with Taiwan Bee shrimps. It was long research period that I spent to make sure building the tank with the best conditions as much as possible I could.

    Size: 70x35x32h (84 liters)
    Filter System:
    - HMF Filter
    - Sunsun Hw 603 B Mini Cannister Filter
    - Undergravel Filter (PoweredWith Air Pump)
Lighting: Daylight, blue and white LED
Water chemistry: RO water + GH+ Mineral
Substrate: ADA Amazonia Normal type (1 package aka 9 liters)
Others: Mangrove, Mini Java Fern, Indian almond and some other seasonal leaves, Borneo Wild Bee Ball

    1st days setup: 05/10/2014
    pH 5.3
    TDS: 220 microsiemens
    GH: 6-7
    kH: 1
    Temp: 21.5 C

    - Since I had used HMF Filter (because it makes maximum bio area) I had to use high density sponge to make sure shrimplets will not pass through the sponge. Here below you can see the sponge I used:

    - For the substrate:
Bottom 0: I had used Borneo Wild Minerax and Enlive at the bottom
    Bottom 1:Undergravel filter
Bottom 2: A thin mosquito net to make sure shrimplets will not go to the bottom
Bottom 3: Sera Siporax Bio Ring
    Bottom 4: ADA Amazonia Normal

The tank is now only 2 days old and in cycling period. I want it to cycle around 6-8 weeks but not sure If I should do water changes on a weekly basis to make sure ammonia to down or put a guppy into it and no water changes for 2 months or something, what do you propose?

The other set up pictures are below. I will keep you guys posted about the progress.

    Regards
    Emre

Che3f, I appreciate your comments!  Each person is different and what works for one person may or may not work for another.  I think this is a great example of that.

I think the concept is that the shrimp don't really notice them or even mind them so you shouldn't be stirring up much crud when catching them.
It's costing me $30 to give it a try, I spend that much on parking and lunch every day.....I'll brown bag it for a couple of days if it doesn't deliver.

I usually use brine shrimp nets if I am trying to move a lot of shrimp and a 3D net if I am targeting a specific shrimp.  The problem I run into with the 3D nets is they are not super deep so sometimes shrimp (especially tigers) will flip out of them when you take them out of the water.

Thank you pal, This is our honey moon with only 2 hybrids, If they will be fine during 3 weeks I will add Blue Bolt, Panda, Red Ruby and some Hybrids as well. Population will be 12 totally and we will see if they will reproduce.

Related with flow, I observed the first time I added my shrimps into the tank, it was discovering the tank and once he came by the outflow of cannister filter, it really didn't enjoy it and now since it learnt that place to avoid I can easily see that it always avoids and bypassing the outflow area of the cannister filter.

I always wanted to try this method out. I probably want to add some Pandas in the near future

This is my 15 gallon long CRS tank

I setup the new tank next to it.

I added seachem matrix, ceramic rings, and the substrate on top of the undergravel filter.

    I poured about 4 bags.

Added tap water so the tank could cycle properly.

How it looks with light on.

There was no dust and its clear.

The fruits of my labor. For the past 2 days I've spent hours meticulously tying moss on rocks and mesh.

    Left: Mini Fissidens
    Right: Flame Moss

    Mini Fissidens on Lava rock

    Mini Fissidens on 3x3 mesh
This was a labor of love. All my moss are carefully laid out and tied down. I plan where/how the moss will grow out when it fills in.
I want to thank my iPad and Netflix for making this possible. [emoji39]

Sorry to hear that. I have lost 100 sulawesis over 3-4 days myself, but I did find the bodies. To me, importing sulawesi is just a gamble, I don't sell any imports anymore but only the offspring from my own tanks. The transportation adds too much to them.

The shrimp smell the chitin and think someone has molted.  It also works sometimes to trigger molts, which is why it can be dangerous.

    Thank you guys.

@DETA, nope I hadn't used oxydator before. This oxydator is hand made by a friend of mine here who I can easily classify a shrimp guru because he dedicated his life to shripms

Here a short video of my first guests (Taiwan Hybrids)

As long as there's a place where shrimps can relax, it's good. If shrimps are fighting against a current the whole time, they be stressed.
    That's what I think.

Just did a quick write up on how I keep my rbt for a fellow member thought I would share. It's kind of basic so any questions please feel free to ask, I'm not about secrets. I have the high grade bb, shadow mosuras, and these guys are still hands down my favorite, so I want to share. Little background, have been keeping them for a little under 2 years, with a move across the country last year where I sold a bunch off and it took a while to recover. But since spring they have been at it and I have probably 600 now with at least 25 of those being berried females now.
Here's what I did the past 2 times i set up a tank for them. I use a 12 long with sponge filter and canister(2213 first time and rena xp1 this time). I used 10lbs of seiryu with maybe a half bag of amazonia? I believe in using a ton of plants. Been using hc for the past 2 years, the amount of babies that hide down in it is just insane, can't even trim anymore with out 10 babies swimming out every cut. Here's a old pic of the tank, glosso didn't work, now use dhg belem, and the needle leaf java got huge.
    Just checked params the other day, ph7.4 kh3-4 gh6 tds220 temp 68-70.
I try to do a 20% water change every week, but I have a 18 month old so that doesn't happen as often any more lol. For wc I make my rodi and immediately throw the powerhead in and remin with salty gh+ to tds100-110 gh like 4-5, dont ever check just use tds. Then I just use mosura tds up to raise tds to what ever i need, if tds is high in tank I will use less tds up. Then i just drip in new water over like a hours time. Been doing it this way for 2 years and it just works for them.
For food I use 99% veggies. I kale and spinach like once a year, blanch and feed. Feed this when ever I remember, maybe 2-3 times a week. I feed frozen bloods worms every couple weeks, remember more when breeding is slow. I dont feed very much commercial food, maybe a couple times a month, have a ton of samples so usually grab whatever bag I find. They do seem to like shirakura special and golden eye food most.
Supplements I use mosura bt-9 a couple times a week. Been using it for years, shrimp go nuts for it, pretty sure it is just like bacter ae. I also use mosura old sea mud once a week with wc.
All I can think of for now. Most pics are pretty old but i'll try to get some new ones this weekend. Look forward to answering any questions.

    Great News!!

For the first time the the past few weeks, I found myself with enough spare time to take out the camera and take some photos of my shrimps.  I was also lucky enough to spot a very lovely lady.  My beautiful Mosura Blue Bolt decided that she wasn't so camera shy and ventured out to eat and hang out with the boys.  She's been so elusive and shy, I thought I had lost her.  I guess my tank has a lot hiding spots because I went weeks without seeing her once.

I included a Side and Top view for folks to see.  Sorry if the photo of the top view is poor quality.  When she saw my camera, she quickly ran back into the bucephalandra forest to hide  ...She so shy...
