She's got nice coloration and although I'm not a fan of backlines, some folks certainly are!  I'd move her and see if you can something from breeding her with something with some green tint or a Blue/Yellow Neo.

You will want to lower the temps (I keep all my tanks under 72F).  What are the gH and kH of the water?  I do however, have folks keeping my CRS in tap water and I keep some in remineralized RO set to Neocaridina Parameters with no issues.

Thank you Wyzazz!   ☺️   Mister Misch - You're right, Bloody Marys came from chocolates but they aren't any more consistent than any other Neo.  There just aren't as many of them out there as there are cherry shrimp or PFRs because those have been around longer.  The same for Blue Dreams.     Yeah, culling is important.  If you don't cull, you'll eventually loose whatever characteristic (i.e. bright vivid color) you're trying to keep.  If a 'lesser' specimen shrimp manages to escape culling and breed, then they'll contribute to the loss or dilution of that characteristic (color/pattern etc.) down the road.   The more you cull, the more consistent they'll be for you.  I adopted my Nephews pet goldfish, George and Gracie, when he went off to collage.  They get my culls and appreciate it very much!   And besides, if you don't cull you'll eventually have a billion shrimp...  And they won't be very pretty any more either...   I think the only really consistent shrimp out there are PRLs and PBLs in that they'll consistently produce red and white or black and white babies all the time.  And even those we cull for shell thickness and better patterns etc.     And I feel for you - I live out in the sticks as well.  I'm in Maine and practically everything is illegal here (except pot LOL!).  I can keep my shrimp as long as I say they're "feeder shrimp".  (It's a gray area legally I guess).  Yes - that's right they're FEEDER SHRIMP people!  FEEDER SHRIMP!!  LOL!!    🤣  Oh well, guess I can't blame the state for being paranoid about invasive species these days...   The state's known for it's trout fishing and all...  But yeah, the selection on aquatics is pretty thin at Petsmart in Maine.   😳   Thank goodness for the internet!  Check out Aquabid - It's better than eBay for fish and aquarium stuff.  Price-wise at least.  There are some facebook pages where you can buy stuff as well.  But I mostly stick with Aquabid.    And you'll love the CO2 system!  A pH controller is the way to go.  It keeps things stable and constant.  It'll even make moss grow fast!

wyzazz got a reaction from JonRon in Shrimp Dust Complete, Snowflake & Barley Pellets
I've put together some packages of my Shrimp Dust Complete food, Snowflake & Barley Pellets.  These are 3 of the things I feed to all of my shrimp on a weekly basis.

For $23.00 you will receive 1/2C (~60g) of Shrimp Dust Complete, a heaping 1/2C of Snowflake & a heaping 1/2C of Barley Pellets shipped to you via USPS.

The Shrimp Dust Complete contains the following:  Spirulina, Nettle Leaf, Moringa Leaf, Barley Grass, Kelp, Bee Pollen, Mulberry Leaf, Maple Leaf, Oak Leaf, Mint Leaf, Cherry Leaf, Catappa Leaf, Soy Hulls, Eggshells, Montmorillonite Clay, Brewers Yeast, Beneficial Bacteria, Spinach, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Acorn Squash, Salmon Pellets, Earthworm Pellets, Black Soldier Fly Larvae

This is a great food to mix with Tank or RO water, and dose your tanks with.  Because it is a powder it spreads all over the tank and promotes the growth of biofilm and is readily accessible to your baby shrimp!

Snowflake is made from Soy Hulls & Barley Pellets are made from...   ...well Barley!  Both of these are long-term grazing foods that will not foul your water, they immediately promote the growth of bacteria and biofilm that shrimp love to consume.

Here is a quick (poorly taken) video of me adding Shrimp Dust Complete to my tanks.

I'm way less eloquent than you, so I'll just say Welcome to the Spot!!!

As for Neo's, you can find some pretty decent lines that are fairly stable, but you won't find any that are completely stable.  You'll always need to cull and you'll always have the random outlier.  If you can find someone that has been culling and keeping a high-quality line of Neo's you may have better luck and fewer culls.  For me, Bloody Mary's seem to be the most consistent.  I got mine from @TheGlassBox.

Hopefully your Panda's make it, just ensure you drip acclimate them slowly once you receive your salts and re-home them.

No problem, I'm happy to assist in your troublehsooting.

I don't see anything glaringly wrong here but since you kept fish in here I've got another question for you.  Did you ever dose Malachite Green or Methleyne Blue in this tank?  Any meds with copper in them that you can recall?  Medications like this can embed in the plastic and silicone bits that are in the tank and last for years.  I've seen these cause issues for shrimp in the past.

That is possible but not terribly likely.  You could do that, just make sure you turn off your filters so you don't kill off the beneficial bacteria in your tank.  Here is a decent video on how to utilize H2O2.

Some of the taller tanks do have the air turned down a bit, lower tanks (need more pressure) are wide open.

Thanks for the Pics @TigerBarb1017, that's a clean looking tank!  How long has it been running again?

Are you dosing any powdered foods or Biofilm/Bacteria based foods?

I see bubbles and lots of flow in one pic, shrimp prefer gentle waters IME, maybe the flow is too high?

    What substrate are you using?

Please let me know what your test results are!

Planaria will seek out and kill baby shrimp, if you see one or two, rest assured that there are quite a few more in the substrate.  How are you A/N/N readings?  What is your temp?  Can  you shoot a picture of the tank for us?  One up close and one farther back?  Thanks!

wyzazz got a reaction from EricM in Tap water vs Remineralized
When you mix from RO with a reimeralizer there is no question of what is in your water and whether or not it is suitable for shrimp.  If you are using tap, you are at the mercy of your municipal water supply or well.  If something changes, you stand to risk losing your entire tank when you do a water change.  If that is an acceptable risk for you, then there are no issues that I can see.

    Hi Everyone,

I am back. It has been a while since I was here. I got busy with personal things (plus I got feed up with the other forum).. Anyways, I will be working on few projects that I would like to share with everyone here.

One project that I am actually currently working is a DIY oxygenator. Most of you already know this and may currently implementing it. The DIY that I am working on is different than the Hydrogen Peroxide decomposition via enzyme (e.g. potato). My catalyst is different (e.i. non-enzymatic pathway), which I just made. In fact, I just tested it and it is working great. Now, I just need to buy 6% Hydrogen Peroxide solution, install my oxygen inlet to my tank and I will be done with this project <-- really close to be done then.

My other project is acclimating leopard tiger shrimp from soft water to hard water. My acclimation plan will take around 7 days. I may make some sort of journal about this. For those who own and have experiences with leopard tiger, I would like to get information. Thanks in advance.

    Sincerely,
    AquaticShrimpNoob
