  1. I highly doubt there is a problem with the Controsoil, you said you calibrated your pH pen recently? What process did you use to calibrate it and how have you been storing it?
  2. From what I hear the pH should be closer to 6 to really help them show their true blue.
  3. HMF are by far my favorite and easisr filters. I am only using them on any new task I set up.
  4. I had very expensive sensitive shrimp delivered this past February daytime high was 14F all survived and were fine. Cold weather is actually better since the shrimp metabolism slows down. Their respiration slows along with waste production.
  5. Properly acclimated shrimp should land after putting them In and just eat where they are. Any swimming around I see as stress. I always drip for 2-4 hours depending on how different the water is. Hopefully you have some luck since tap water is very unpredictable.
  6. Joes Aqua Sales is the place, great price and Joe Chang had great service.
  7. RO membranes need to stay moist otherwise they will be ruined. I use mine about once a week and always just leave it.
  8. I have used cobalt neo therm heaters exclusively for a year and a half sizes from 25w to 150w with no issues and absolutely love them.
  9. Always use a timer for lights and I add some extra leaves, and snowflake before I go out of town. Thanks with 30+ shrimps are fine for two weeks.
  10. I know shrimp fever regularly ships into the U.S. Without problem. Might be worhth while to check with tommy.
  11. Different water remineralizers have different components that can react with each other negatively or overdose on elements that are required in small amounts.
  12. Are you using RO with remineralizer?
  13. It is odd that you would have nitrites on day 3 without adding bacteria. But the cycle usually goes that ammonia disappears as nitrites rise to a high level then disappear overnight. Cranking up the temperature also helps the cycle go faster.
  14. I would recommend a BRS4 as entry level from Bulk Reef Supply, this is the unit I use and absolutely love it. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-4-stage-value-ro-di-system-75gpd-2.html
