  2. Lexinverts. Great breeder, very knowledgeable, and a good guy. I bought my cardinals from him, and he has a very hardy, homebred strain, probably the strongest around in my opinion. On top of that, they are beautiful shrimp.

  4. Speedie says "hi" to all the shrimpers out there. I messaged him on FB to see if he has any shrimp I could buy, and he's completely overtaken by his new hobby that he doesn't even have time to keep shrimp right now. He had a great run with shrimping, and it was lots of fun. He says maybe one day he'll be back. Here's to hoping!

  6. I use Mosura Gravidas once a week, since I rotate my foods. It's a protein source, so feed very sparingly. Your PFRs should enjoy it
  7. Hey Shrimp lady, A Bloody Mary shrimp is a neocaridina that was bred for its red tissue and a clear shell. They are some of the brightest, reddest shrimp you can currently buy, and perhaps some of the easiest to keep, being a neocaridina. From what I've read, they were derived from Chocolate neos. The shrimp in my avatar is actually a Painted Fire Red (PFR) Shrimp, derived from breeding Red Cherry Shrimp. Unlike Bloody Mary Shrimp, PFRs were bred to have an opaque, red shell. That particular shrimp was what spurred this addiction Here's a pic of one of my Bloody Marys: http://www.shrimpspot.com/index.php?/gallery/image/723-bloody-mary/
  8. I think what Soothing was trying to say was to try and avoid products that may promise enhanced colors. Genetics play the biggest role there. With that said, you're on the right track by wanting to purchase Painted Fire Red shrimp, since they are easy to breed and a good starter shrimp with nice red coloring. I've not tried Ebi Dama myself, but I've read good reviews as a staple food. You'll find that certain shrimp will prefer some foods over others. For example, my Orange Eye Blue Tigers prefer plant-based foods, like spinach, Cologne Shrimp Food Omnipro, and Tantora Mulberry Plus, whereas my Bloody Marys will eat those above plus meatier foods like Mosura Gravidas, and Shrimp King Protein. Take your time, try stuff out, research on this forum, and feed sparingly.
