It depends on the size of the drop, usually 10-20 drops per mL. Two is ... that's a really big dropper.
You can get an oral dosing syringe for babies from most pharmacies or large supermarkets. They're usually around 10 mL. Also, 5 mL = 1 teaspoon. A fluid ounce is about 30 mL.

    Hi all,

I had just posted the day 4 result. You may find it here: http://www.shrimpydaddy.com/2014/11/traditional-nitrogen-fixing-bacteria-vs_21.html

My friends play it, but I got really discouraged. I ended up switching to Summoners War, where I had better luck.

Y'all are to be commended for even trying ... only just got a tank cycled for freshwater neos!! Cannot contemplate that kind of difficulty! [brain breaks]

Get the debris out of the tank. Take out the wood, vacuum up all the junk. If it's decaying, it's releasing waste products and who knows what else into the water.

For ammonia, I have fallen in love with the Seachem in-tank indicator. I swear it really does work - I can see when I have a spike, and I usually find that one of my older guppies has passed away after hunting around the tank.
I have been using the Tetra dry strips for nitrite and nitrate. For whatever reason, I can distinguish the shades of pink much more easily. The multistrip also shows some other values, like KH and GH, but I'm most concerned about those two. (I don't have shrimp yet; I do have the API liquid tests for KH and GH, but I trust those as they are done by titration, not trying to match colors.)
I have heard good things about the Sera tests, but have not found a source that isn't crazy expensive.

I am of the opposite opinion, the API liquid tests are ridiculously inaccurate due to their failure to print consistent, usable color charts. It isn't the reagents (as long as you follow the directions), it's the chart. I cannot interpret the results if they are not zero or 10 ppm. Sure, anything above 10 means a water change is a good idea, but I don't consider that to be a test result that I would pay money for.

Cut a clean water bottle so that you have a curved piece of plastic, and tape it curving down over the outflow so that the water hits it first.

If it's hard green spot algae, it's a sign that I'm running low on phosphorus. Usually feeding more frozen food (they often contain phosphate) or dosing small amounts of potassium phosphate will tip things back the way I want them. I guess that works best if there are plants in the tank that aren't actively dying.
If it's new growth, sometimes I can get it off with my fingernails.

A tough plant can take a month or more to die in adverse conditions (too little light, etc.) - suggest making sure your setup is good before calling it dormancy if that is what has been happening.

These shrimp are EXTREMELY hardy. That's how they survive being sold in conditions that would kill many other aquatics. I am sure they will appreciate the clean water going forward, though!
Java ferns are super duper tough. I've left them in half empty tanks with no light for weeks/months, then rinsed them off and chucked them into other tanks - and sure, lost a few leaves, but they were fine.

    hmmmmmmm.
I had way more female guppies over the summer. Maybe it's just something they do, throw more girls when there should be lots of food.

I have Java fern plantlets that could theoretically make the transition if you're interested. I tried to transition them myself, but I think I didn't give them enough light or nutrients, and they did not thrive.
Reading about these guys is actually what convinced me that I could have invertebrates. Never managed to get a tank together for them, though. (My aquatics do much better if I can get plants growing in their setups. Without them, I didn't trust myself to maintain them properly.)
