Is there a spot where links are (or can be) posted so everyone can read about shrimp genetics who are just learning. Maybe I missed it, but what an incredible resource that would be! I’m not new to shrimp keeping but now I want to learn about genetics as I am getting some very interesting morphs from my Blue Bolts. 6 months ago I separated BB Extreme and now I’m finding Crazy BB and some stardust looking blue bolts, which will son get their own tank!  Photos are what I’m getting...

Because your blue bolt is not a pure blue bolt. It was probably a blue steel. Looks like pinto and tibee

So I had bred my BB with another BB in a breeding tank and for the most part I have a lot of BB babies. I also have some that are pinto and crystal red patterns. Can I even get crystal reds from BB? Or would they be Taiwan bees?? I’ve just never seen this type of shrimp in the past.

I think this is a less common colour morph. You can find people talking about red spot/red head neocaridina elsewhere online.

Aura Blue x Blue Bolts and x Cheetahs. The ones with the more vibrant brighter blue are from Andrew Wayne and are the Aura/Cheetahs. The shrimp with the lighter blue and white are my Aura/Bolts.

I don’t have an active substrate. I started this tank with crs a year or so ago. I live in pdx where our water is soft our facet water runs at 10 tds. For a few months I used facet water but when I wanted to branch out with my shrimp I bought an ro system and use that. 

I would try buypetshrimp.com I just recently got some OEBT from him. His store says he’s out but he sold me some aura tigers and tangerine tigers as well. I just messaged him and asked if he would sell me some and we finished the transaction through PayPal.

I have finally gotten a TB only tank up and running with a handful of blue bolts, shadow pandas and a few red bolts and goldens. When I got some of my BB in I noticed this one right away and was curious if this is categorized as a BB or pushes into the blue steel realm? Keep in mind this coloration was after acclimation and being in the tank only a few minutes. Now the white tail is very bold and the blue markings are strong but still just the same split. (lights off Ill snag a current picture tomorrow) Moving forward which females should I try and breed him with the strengthen the line?

I just want to give a big thank you to this forum! I first started in the aquarium hobby 3 years ago with Betta fish and found my love of ghost shrimp that has now turned into blue velvets, Amano Shrimp and crystal reds. For the past year I’ve read so many helpful threads that has given me the confidence to start this wonderful, addictive hobby!! I love that I can create a thriving ecosystem for my inverts and I wouldn’t have done it without this forum. I hope in the future I can expand different species and learn something new.
