Merth reacted to mayphly in WTT TB for Tibee
Whats up TSP people!
I would like to trade a few tb for some tibee shrimp so i can get started on my pinto project. I prefer f2 and up generations. I have panda, shadow panda, and blue bolts. My blue bolts carry red bolt genes and they have already produced a few. I only need about 4-6 tibee and prefer females. I also have for trade sss crs, some very nice goldens with unique pattern (red cheek) and blue diamonds for trade. I have plenty of pics if you would like to check out any of my shrimps. Please send pics of offered shrimps and let me know what they were crossed with. Thanks!!! I also accept donations

One of the larger pumpkins I got from you (cell pic). She (I think) is a bit darker than the picture shows. Very nice and healthy.

Fuji X-T1 + Carl Zeiss Touit 50mm macro[emoji106]
Just trying to make the best of what we have. Better than forking over an arm and a leg for something just to have it lose colors because it's not happy. My goal is to figure out the root cause and address it so everyone can keep the best shrimps happy. -
Merth reacted to EricM in New Rack Ideas!
just make sure you do a full loop. it helps equalize the air pressure across all the fittings.
@ Will. what do you think of the substrate right up against the HMF? i was thinking of doing something like this on future tanks. can be scaled up or down as needed.
its a split design which keeps the substrate off the HMF.
i'm aware there are some people that dont like the idea of a UFG with buffering soil. but I do.
(excuse my crude photo, but you get the idea)

Merth reacted to OblongShrimp in New Rack Ideas!
I use HFM on my 15gal tanks and put it across a short end. I have mine with the short end facing me so I can fit more on the rack though. I think putting it across the whole length of the tank would take up to much space.

Pretty cool. He looks all gooey and stretchy right before he jumps out of his skin.

Merth got a reaction from High5's in Blue Velvet deaths - sorry I'm so long winded
Do you know for fact they are dying? See carcasses? Or just assuming because you arent seeing them? They really are good at hiding. You can try adding an airstone to get more oxygen in the water. Mine tend to swim around more then.

Merth reacted to Ch3fb0yrdee in Jager Heaters
The Jagers needs to be calibrated. Once that's done it holds temperatures rock solid. Whenever I get a new jager I do an empty tank test to see what the dial temp is at and what it's actually responding to before it's on/off. Once I know the range, I set up the temp factoring in the +/-. It's like anything else, you need to test the uppers and lower ranges.
Reliability is more correlated to the jager not turning on/off or failing to turn off and cooking everything. I've never experienced this with jager units.
Getting a DOA unit is rare but does happen. I've received a crack Fluval C3 and Marina Breede box. Besides the inconvenience of mailing it back, return labels are always free from Amazon. In fact, Amazon has an amazing return policy.

Merth got a reaction from Soothing Shrimp in Best Liquid Remineralizer?
I think most would prefer the liquid due to consistency and ease of use but the cost is the driving factor
