Quick little update. It's been about 3 months since I started this tank dedicated to just SD products. Here's a comparison of now and then. The top pic is now. You can see the white is looking very solid and has a nice thick shell compared to the bottom shrimp. However, last month I did loose a batch of babies and 2 adults in this tank and curently there are no berried shrimp. My parameters in May were PH- 5.9-6.0 (API) GH 6.11 (Hanna) GH 8 (API) NO3 5ppm KH 0 TDS 165 Temp 73.4 Since dosing Growth my nitrates shot up to 40ppm. I have stoppped dosing Growth in this tank. Today my TDS is at 148 and GH is at 6 (API). I haven't measured nitrates yet.

Seashells can raise your PH. It depends how many in what size tank you want to put them in. A couple might be ok in a tank with neos. However, I wouldn't keep them with caridina.

Oh look! A nice shady tree to kick back under! Dark colored crs offspring. This guy came from my SSS crs. A real oddball. Once in a blue moon one of these will show up.

Here's a couple aura blue moms. Some babies are already beginning to pop up.The colors of the pics aren't the greatest due to the heavy tannins in this tank.

I've looked into these little guys a while ago. They are very cool looking shrimp. However, I haven't heard of anyone successfully breeding them. Are you going to try and breed thm? I think you should give it a shot.

It's supposed to help plants combat algae. I don't know if it's shrimp safe although I doubt it is. You can control algae by raising and lowering your lights. I wouldn't add anything that's not necessary to a shrimp tank to be in the safe side.
