  1. I was wondering if a tank that is cycled with MK products will also have that same bacteria "bloom" look as the SL Aqua tank does. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Does anyone know if a tank started with MK products is supposed to look the same as the SL Aqua tank?
  3. I just got back from a 5 day fishing trip and was happy to see that the berried crs had some babies in the tank. Everything is looking good. Hopefully she'll berry up again soon.

  5. Welcome aboard! I would like to hear more about how you set up a dirted tank. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Lol!!!! I'd be more than happy to help you out when your ready. By then I should have some new types of shrimp available.[emoji4] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. That 22g looks sweet! Watcha gonna put in it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. today's pic is on the bottom right. You can see bacteria forming on the glass visibility is close to zero trying to see through the tank. The top pic was from day one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. It's been 10 days and all is well. I have to say the water in the tank looks Crystal clear and the shrimp all look active and healthy. I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It's been 5 days and the tank is so cloudy you can barely see through it. I also got some more Purify from DiscoBee and started up another 10g using the easy cycle method. These two tanks I'm planning on keeping taitibee projects in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The one product I find now essential is snowflake food. Haven't met a shrimp that doesn't like it yet. I know there are several different brands of it out there. I've tried a couple different ones. They all appear to be just as good as the next. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. i totally agree. I get a lot of mischling which come out Mosura from the mischling I cross with TB. Some look nice than some CRSSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I have golden bees that throw out blue color in them. If I kept breeding those together eventually I believe I'd get blue bolts. I still think bolts are different than TB's. But, they still get thrown. Into the same category. Tb's have opaque coloration that the others just don't have. Your others would still be mischlings. Hope that makes sense. 15. Happy to report I now have 4 berried TB and 1 berried mischling in my 20L TB tank. Here's is a full tank shot of my 20L which I took today.
  16. Yes. 1 gram pouches of Safe-guard canine dewormer. Math isn't my strong point. Thanks!
  17. 1g = 1,000mg 0.1g = 100mg .01g = 10mg I always use .01g of the 22.2% (222 mg/g) fenbendazole and have never had a death result from dosing. Unfortunately I thnk you dosed 10x's the recommended amount. I pour the packet out and chop it up super fine and divide it in to 10 equal parts. This is the only way I know I won't mess up. Sorry about your losses.
  18. I keep all my water stored in 20g garbage cans. I use 3 of them. One for RO, one for Tap and one for waste. I top them off maybe once every 2 weeks when they get about 1/4 full. With covers on all my tanks I don't have that much evaporation at all and rarely need to do top offs. Recently I've been keeping water changes to once a month on some of my tanks with covers. Those tanks all the shrimp are berried and have babies in them. The most recent being the Super Hornets. In one month the TDS went from 160 to 163 with one top off in between. I think I can go even longer but I'm to chicken to try. Here is our water districts curent restrictions. I also heard that this will be changing soon to stricter regs. Water Use Restrictions The application of potable water to outdoor landscapes in a manner that causes runoff-causing water to flow onto adjacent properties, non-irrigated areas, private and public walkways, roadways parking lots and/or structures The use of a hose that dispenses water to wash motorized vehicles, boats and trailers, except where the hose is fitted with a positive shut-off nozzle or device attached to it that causes it to cease dispensing water immediately when not in use Applying water to driveways and sidewalks The use of water in a fountain or decorative water feature, except where the water is part of a recirculating system The use of water to clean hard surfaces, such as sidewalks, driveways, and patios The service of water in restaurants, except on request The use of water on new outdoor ornamental landscaping or turf installed on or after September 1, 2014, unless the landscaping consists of low water use drought tolerant plants The irrigation of outdoor ornamental landscpes or turf with potable water more than 2 days a week---except when watering by hand-held bucket, hand-held hose with automatic shut-off valve, low volume irrigation system or water for very short periods of time for the express purpose of adjusting or repairing an irrigation system.
  19. I can't wait to see how these turn out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. My TB are the original strain which I got from you a couple years ago after my failed algae nightmare which I posted on The Planted Tank. Don't know if you remember or not. These guys have been doing very good for me. I have a few others that I have spotted that have the same snowflake pattern on their heads. It's good to see you made it over to this forum. Lots of good people here! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your projects!
  21. I found this little guy today. He must have been in hiding. Does anyone know if spotheads start out this way? He looks like he just walked in from a snowstorm!
  22. USA Freshwater Shrimp and Plants Have you changed anything else in your tank prior to your deaths?
  23. Hi, Welcome to the forum. I would shoot for freshwater prawns in an aquaponic system if I were to harvest for food. The guy in this video has the right idea.
