  1. How thick does an acrylic lid need to be so that it doesn't warp? I need to get some for my 10g's.
  2. Sounds like some scam. Anyways thought I'd post here just to give everyone a heads up!
  3. Did anyone else get this message? Sounds like BS to me. I did not respond to it. Looks like a phishing site!
  4. I recently set up 4 new 10g tanks. Here's my next set up These racks are at lowes for about $90.
  5. Yeah... I have timers on all my tanks. I think the hair algae came from a marimo ball that used when I started the tank with high light and ferts. Dam hairy marimo balls!! The beams work light that I have has a high and low light setting. I keep it on low which helps subdue the algae. Plus manual removal. I run lights for 6 hours a day on the Sulawesi tank.
  6. For those of you who are keeping Taiwan Bees and having success in breeding them I thought it would be a good idea if you could share your parameters here with others to help them become successful in breeding TB’s as well. Mind you this is just as reference since there are many things in the shrimp tank that affect parameters such as soils, plants, ferts, co2, etc…. My tank is heavily planted and I use Amazonia as substrate. I do not use ferts or co2 in this tank. I use 1:1 ratio of tap and RO water rematerialized with Mosura mineral plus. My TB breed all throughout the year. (Knock on wood) However, I find my mischling in the tank become berried more often (faster) than the TB. Here is a comparison of my parameter changes. Although there is a bit of fluctuations in my paramters the shrimp are still breeding. April 2014 Today TDS- 145 TDS- 155 GH- 5 GH- 6 KH- 0 KH- 0 NO3- 0 NO3- 0 PH-5.8-6.0 PH- 6.0 Temp- 72 Temp- 72
  7. Here's some shots I took this morning. The shrimp in the African fern looks like a shrimp christmas tree.
  8. Check with Oblongshrimp. He sometimes has them. Welcome to the forum!
  9. Those last two posts are some serious sexy shrimp!!!
  10. I'm as excited as these dancing shrimp!!!
  11. And...........more babies I now do water changes once every two weeks. Every time I do a water change I find molts which is a good sign. I have hair algae growing in this tank which I'm not thrilled about. But, the shrimp love it. I have low light which helps keeping it from over growing.
  12. I'm still going ahead with my own pinto project, However, I couldn't resist the opportunity of purchasing these guys from Blue Crown during their sale. I have four of them coming next week. This was my birthday present to myself. Besides, you only live once!!
  13. I hope you get a nice colony going of these guys!
  14. I have faith. My BB have little S's on their chest and wear a red cape. [emoji12]
  15. I have 2 20g containers one with ro and one with tap. There are airstones in each which are running 24/7 to help gas off and stabalize ph.
  16. That is scary! Glad to hear your ok.
  17. why do you want to lower your ph? If your tank is stable at 6.5 and your shrimp seem happy then why mess with it? It can become unstable when you start adding addditives. If you realy want to lower your ph I would suggest doing it with ro water. Just my two cents.
