Best way to lower KH

Setting up a TB tank and want to prep my parameters right. What is the best way to lower the KH in your experience?

Current params

PH 7.3

TDS 180

KH 4

GH 6

I want to get the KH to zero and the PH to 6 for a nice healthy environment for TBs.

The tank uses ada amazonia and ive been doing 50% water changes with RO. Should i just continue with water changes? Is there anything else i can do to help?

I would stop adding tap water and use mineral plus

I don't know the KH yet.

I tried couple things,

 

adding HCl,

adding Peat Moss

 

but overtime it bounces back to 7.3.

 

I have ADA Amozonia as substrate with RO water, adjust GH to 5 before water change.

 

I almost gave up, my CRS still doing well in pH7.3

ADA soil and salty shrimp. No more tap water. 0 every time nothing else really works.

Only real way to get 0 kh is to start with RO water and remineralize it with one of the available products.

ADA is most often used. I use UP sand, but I'm the minority.
