Subtletanks91
How can we get more soils in the us. From everything I have heard the us won't let anyone import them because there is plant matter in most soils. But since these are being used for aquatic applications and not gardening per say, why should that matter. The ever growing list of soils to try is growing. Ista Control soil Etc etc

Subtletanks91
It would be vwy possible for us to make a soil given the right equipment procedures and ingredients. The trick is getting the lists of the soils that are proven effective and seeing what they have in common and go from there. peat, minerals, ferts, micro and macro nutrients, organic matter, a solid form. Soothing Shrimp
Perhaps I'm the only one, however I'm posative a sythetic soil could be made- maybe with properties much better than organic, such as longer bufferring ability, and no "mush" factor. countryboy12484 and High5's

Soothing Shrimp
I don't want to hijack subtle's thread, so I did a different thread: http://www.shrimpspot.com/index.php?/topic/1112-attributes-of-a-perfect-shrimp-soil/
