Louie
Country, I have grown water sprite and ludwiga emersed but no tank cover just mud and over head light . The ludwiga grew very interesting like ground cover . You might as well turn one of those tanks into a salamander set up ,lol. GA has some nice types . I also had some frogbit I got from Han grow directly on soil . I had some fall out of a stock tank and couple weeks later noticed it was growing in the moist soil but not sure if that is common. Doc4PC2
You could put like a hydro farm piece on the bottom of the tank. It would help the plants to grow.

Triton
You can do the same thing using plastic containers with holes drill inside the tank

chibikaie
Is it hard to convert ludwigia to emersed growth? Can I place cuttings in substrate with an inch of water and just let them take off?
h4n
Plants take a bit to adjust from submerged to emersed. Sometime they die sometime they jus do fine. Depending on how humidity your emersed tank are. Soothing Shrimp

Triton
No bueno... My buce grows extremely slow in my emersed set up. They do better floating or tied to rocks
