evilguppy
Why my shrimp die after feeding pellet/stick. When i feed pellet/stick. Shrimp die next day. I feed snowflake firdt time yesterday. They really love it.maybe i didn't feed them for 2weeks. But today,i found 1shrimp dead I usually feed powder foods twice a week. because they die next day if i feed pellet. I dont know why? If i feed pellet,i feed little bit. I dont think overfeeding pellet. They already have enough foods(bio film, etc) in tank Just pellet form foods. Why why?
Shrimpo
There is some ingredients in the food that is causing that probably, when the unlucky shrimp eat that particular ingredient it dies. I would stop feeding pellets for now or get new batch.
ctaylor3737
Confused is this about snowflake or pellet? It is probably just a random death, check your parameters and your food. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
evilguppy
Pellet. But it happened with snowflake as well. I hope random death. Thank you
Shrimpo
I thought you only having issues with pellets only, if they are dying after feeding other types of food then it is water quality issue, how much you feed exactly and what is the water volume? do ammonia test next day after feeding, sometimes even trace ammonia will kill the shrimp so try to improve the filtration. evilguppy
Thank you for your thought. 20L. Around 60shrimps or more(set up march still young) 2x aquaclear50 with matrix.dual sponge filter. As snowflake. One 1/2inch pellet of snowflake. As bw grow. 1Piece break to 3-4pieces. I took out huge amount of java moss 2days ago I mean huge. Because it seems low circulation of water. W/C once a 3weeks 2.5g of water. I did it 2days ago. I should have changed water more often Powder form foods is okay. Only pellet/stick type foods Its gone overnight. Snail will eat leftover. Just puzzle to me. Every time i feed pellet. I found dead one next day. Thank you

Sbarbee54
powder foods will raise your TDS a bunch, so maybe when you do your water changes you are shocking them with dropping tds to much.

evilguppy
It's getting better. I think it was water quality. Ive done 4 x2.5g W/C with gh/kh+ No more tap water. I dropped snow flake yesterday. No death. They munch snowflake alot I still continue changing water 5-6 times more for few weeks. By the way i set up 10g in july. Only use gh/kh+. And shrimps are very hyper active. So i think it is water quality ploblem. Thank you guy for helping me
