OMG Aquatics
Will be setting up a grow up tank for my fish fry The plan is to make a very nice dwarf hairgrass carpet. So far the tank is filled with eco complete planted. Filtering the debris as of now. Will have the dwarf hairgrass after I get my lights. Hope they don't die like the dwarf baby tears I got a few months back. -fingers crossed-
metageologist
Good luck with the hair grass I always failed to grow that.
OMG Aquatics
I'm most worried about algae!!! This is a med-high light plant I believe.
wicca32
with fry its best to do bare bottom or moss only. way easier to keep it clean that way since you need to feed alot
OMG Aquatics
Just finished filtering the tank. Looks crystal clear Placed DIY CO2 system as well as a water circulation pump.
OMG Aquatics
Replaced the CO2 with my own mixture and wow, CO2 was producing within 1-2 hours. Steady rate of 1 bubble per second. Now waiting for the hairgrass 1 cup = 8 oz cup 1/2 cup light brown sugar 1/2 tablespoon yeast 1/2 tablespoon baking soda 2 cup water
mayphly
My hairgrass grows pretty fast in med light, no ferts and no co2 in amazonia soil. It's a pita to trim! hehe!
OMG Aquatics
I would assume dwarf baby tears and dwarf hairgrass is similar. Killed my dwarf baby tears in 2-3 days.
OMG Aquatics
That was a bad mixture. Literally finished in 1-2 days. Tried another mixture 1/2 cup light brown sugar .75g yeast 1g baking soda 2 cup water

Merth
Dont trim it too soon...alot of times it starts growing really nice and people trim it to keep short before the roots get really established.
OMG Aquatics
Will keep that in mind.
