OMG Aquatics
Purchased this and it's pretty decent. http://www.amazon.com/Aquarium-Maintenance-Cleaner-Battery-Operated/dp/B003OYOPNW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413501641&sr=8-1&keywords=battery+gravel+vacuum I didn't test it with it's full length because my tank isn't deep enough. This works really good for bare bottom tanks. I can clean my fry tank bare bottom in about 2 minutes. NO WATER CHANGE. How awesome is that? Saves a lot of time and water. Not a super powerful vacuum but it's strong enough to suck up poo so I'm happy.
Mamashack
Glad you've got one that works! I've tried a couple of these they didn't have enough power to move any water.

Mamashack
Thanks Poopians. I've currently got one of these : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Battery-Operated-Fuel-Petrol-Fluid-Transfer-Siphon-Pump-Workshop-Tool-Motorcycle-/331207513608?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4d1d819608 which admittedly is no good for gravel cleaning. However my tanks are small enough for me to use a manual syphon for cleaning the gravel and removing water and I use the battery one for the replacement water. Doc4PC2
If you tape around the bottom, it works much better.
