stonedaquarium
tested the tank... ph is currently reading about 6.8 to 7.0 and i just upped the Gh to 6... would that be better? i managed to keep the ph stable for the past two days using CO2 and counter balancing it with the aeration caused by the sponge filter... the co2 bubble count is about 1 bps... so far the ph has remained stable and i hope this would be a better fix for my case...as i dont want to play around too much with my tank... Shrimpy Daddy
What test kit are you using to measure the GH? Yes, don't try to fight the nature, just let the pH stays at it is. Frankly, pH does not play a big role on shrimp's biology. However, it does increase the rate of ammonia releases from ammonium. Recently, I put a bunch of Tiger and Taiwan Bee shrimps into my Sulawesi shrimp tank. All of them are doing well. Actually, it is more than well, they are thriving. stonedaquarium
thats good to know... i use the API GH/KH Test kit... normally it takes 6 drops of the GH test kit to change the water from orange to green.
Shrimpy Daddy
Ooo... API is relatively inaccurate. Anyway, your pH is neutral and around 5dGH should be sufficient. As such, you could don't need to bother too much about it.
Soothing Shrimp
*shrugs* API gh/kh works for me.
