OMG Aquatics
150GPD vs 100GPD vs 50GPD So everything is the same except the GPD. Does that mean 50GPD produce more waste water than 150GPD or do they all produce the same amount of waste water?
countryboy12484
I would assume more ro per day means more waste per day
OMG Aquatics
So which one would better?
Ron
I think RO units without boost pumps and restrictors produce at a 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 waste to RO ratio.
OMG Aquatics
Are your RO units having water run in 24/7?
Ron
I have 2 - 100 GPD Vertex Puratek Deluxe units, my RO/DI storage barrel is only 55 gallons so it takes less than 7 hours to fill.
OMG Aquatics
Can I use the RO unit one hour a week only? I read something about the membrane must be wet at all times?
Ron
Can I use the RO unit one hour a week only? I read something about the membrane must be wet at all times? I would say yes. I would place valves on the produced water and waste water lines so you can prevent the membrane from drying out when not in use. OMG Aquatics
Anyone dealt with purewaterclub before? I've emailed them a few questions a few days ago with no response. These are the types of companies I really hate and wish they close...
Ron
Anyone dealt with purewaterclub before? I've emailed them a few questions a few days ago with no response. These are the types of companies I really hate and wish they close... Never dealt with them but I would recommend getting a 100 GPD Vertex Puratek Deluxe. The 2 I have are great and currently on sale for $269.99 regularly $349.99. Check out your local reef forum, people oftem have them for sale up here and my last one probably made 200 gallons of RO/DI and I got it for $150. With the boost pump and restrictor, the waste to RO/DI ratio is supposed to be 1 to 1.
EricM
bulkreefsupply.com most of the housing is the same, but there is a huge difference in quality of the filters. make sure you research the actual filters being used in your purchase. this is why I chose BRS. they use very high quality filters and their kits contain just about every accessory you'd need.
