christinenha
I was just wondering at what age do people normally ship shrimp and the earliest they can be shipped. I know there are different sizes like pee wee, juvie, etc. What do these all mean and approximately how big are they at each stage?

RyeGuy411
I've seen pretty small shrimp shipped so I wouldn't think there is a minimum age. I know that shipping when they are still molting frequently is preferred. aquariumlover10
Soothing Shrimp
I won't ship under 1/4"-3/8". Shrimp are still too sensitive at that point IMO. OMG Aquatics and mayphly
mayphly
Like Soothing said. I wouldn'd ship anything under 1/4".
RyeGuy411
I had some hitchhikers in my first shipment. I could barely see them probably a few days old at best. Out of all the shrimp I recieved they were actually the only ones to make it out of my TOD alive. Just sharing my personal experince. RyeGuy411
Im glad you asked this Christine because I am about to ship shrimp for my first time. I have a mix of one adult 20-30 juvies and probably another 12 small pee wees. Im trying to liquidate a whole tank. How many shrimp can I send in each bag? Soothing Shrimp
I stay around 10 for a 5.5 x 8 breather bag. Some do more. It's really what you are comfortable with. Be sure to add moss or a sponge for them to grab onto, and if using a breather- don't leave any air in the bag.

I got some very small CRS from Will and only 3 survived out of 11. Most were about 1/8-1/4". Bought 12 SSS+ from another seller and were about 3/4" and all survived
JamesHe
1/2“ is good size to ship.
slycat929
I just received some ruby reds today and I am shocked at how freaking tiny they are. They are from an aquabid seller, so no one on TSS. I've never gotten shrimp this small, but they are all 1/8" or less. Gonna take a while for these guys to grow up. I wish you best of luck with those. They usually arrive alive but cannot handle the new changes and eventually die within a few days.
