trying to find a new router

I've been debating on buying the Asus dual band http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-dual-band-wireless-n-gigabit-router-with-4-port-ethernet-switch-black/6639292.p?id=1218768195065&skuId=6639292

Not sure if it's a good one but I need a router that can handle two gaming systems being hooked up to it. Not simultaneously. Able to run my ps4 without hiccup and the xfinity router isn't cut took no it. Plus three Tablet. One desktop. And two phones. Any ideas guys, I know enough to get buy and set stuff up but the tech aspect I get lost.

Subtle I have that one you posted. Been using it for 6+ months, no reboots needed. On the 5ghz channel I get the full 15mbps download that I pay for. On the desktop I have a cisco bridge hooked up to make sure of that. I play a lot of Guild Wars 2, so a good connection is needed. Never had a problem with it since I started using this router. I found that setup was also pretty straightforward. Definitely recommended! If you have other questions let me know!

That router is amazing, I have had the 66u variant since late 2013. Very good range, can stream to multiple devices, and have had absolutely no issue playing games off it either. Been on and running since getting it, no reboots. Its been the best router I've ever had.

Link to one I got, not sure of the difference to yours:

Been running the 66U for almost 2 years now, it has been bulletproof with an Xbox 360 and multiple devices streaming video/audio.

My family's wifi is run by an absolutely ancient Linksys thing, which lately needs to be rebooted daily to restore connections. My dad and I basically live on the internet, but we have no heavy duty internet gaming (I'm guessing that the one game I play on my phone doesn't really count for much compared to a real video game console). These things sound like they're overkill - but what should we get?

I reccommend the tp-link n600. It goes for a reasonable price, and has decent performance. I have set these up both for my mom and for my in laws. They have been running strong for a year with no issues.

4/5 stars on newegg with 330 reviews. Pretty solid!

Just wanted to say thanks - I sent my dad a link to the Toilet Paper router, and we have a fancy new thing installed! (He's a retired software engineer. I think tinkering with tech is his idea of fun.)

It's best to have your router and modem separate. I have the Motorola 6141 with my 66u; hasn't missed a beat yet. I don't have to pay the stupid lease fee either, it paid for itself in a year.
