mayphly
One of my veteran female mischlings inside my TB tank is only holding 5-6 eggs right now. Last week she was holding a whole clutch. She has had about 4 clutches of babies in the past which have all hatched. She's about 1 1/2 years old. Why is she dropping them now. Could it be she's just getting old? Beginning to forget?
Soothing Shrimp
I'm guessing age, or maybe just from a small saddle. Make a note of it, and watch what happens next clutch. mayphly
mayphly
She's carried full clutches in the past with 100% baby survival rates. Would the saddle decrease in size the older she gets?
Soothing Shrimp
Not necessarily, however I have had shrimp make the occasional small saddle that previously were loaded up pretty well. mayphly
forumsnow
The same happened to my best misch. She only had maybe 8 eggs, gave birth, and disappeared shortly after. I think it was just old age. She did give me 2 crown bb and a bunch of pandas in her time so she served well lol.
