Soothing Shrimp
Interested as well. I've been told it's very difficult to grow without a high tech set up.
TheGardenofEder
I have 3 of them in Ada soil no fertz or high light no co2. TheGardenofEder
When I first got my cardinal shrimp people use to look in the tank and give up on trying to find the shrimp in there. I had to show the a picture on my phone of what was in the tank. Now it's hard to find a rock that doesn't have a shrimp on it. The Cardinals come for food and are even on the sponge filter and heater. I use to be able to count how many I see around 30 - 40 was average but I can't keep count now they are more active when there's more of them and move around quite a bit. Since I've had the tank I've only done 3 water changes. The tank will be a year old in March. adrand and Louie
Louie
I'm surprised only 3 water changes in roughly 10 months because its not a planted tank . By that I mean I could see few water changes in planted tank as plants take care of the gravel.
TheGardenofEder
I barely fed the tank till the population was over 40. And still I barely feed compared to my other shrimp tanks.

What kind of nitrate levels do you see before a water change and what percentage of water do you change? Louie

TheGardenofEder
My crypts and Buce do just fine but their not doing as well as in the other tanks. The crypts haven't produced runners at all the whole time the tanks has been set up. Louie

TheGardenofEder
Move two ten gallon tanks to set up 2 more Ada tanks in their place. Also moved a 55 gallon fish tank to the garage and set up another fresh Ada tank. I have 2 more bags of Ada then 2 bags of sl aqua soil. I'm building a rack for a 40 gallon Ada tank, 40 gallon crushed coral tank, and 40 gallon sand planted axolotl tank. After that's built I'll start on a rack for 9 ten gallons with the remaining Ada and sl aqua soil as well as some neo and tiger tanks with non active substrate. TheGardenofEder
My aura blue tigers look so different in high ph. I took out 15 oebt from my 20 gallon and threw then into a fresh 55 gallon set up with the dragon stone and you can't even tell there is still a lot of shrimp feeding. TheGardenofEder
Fresh new 55 gallon shrimp tank. Spider wood came from Trion Aquatics. Got two stands built and primed. One will hold three 40 gallon tanks. 1 ada, 1 crushed coral sulawessi, and 1 planted sand tank for my axolotls. The other rack will hold nine 10 gallon tanks for selective breeding. TheGardenofEder
My 55 gallon tibee tank has babys all over the place now. So far I've seen crs, cbs, red wine, red and black fancy tigers. Also moved a bunch of tibees into my 20 gallon long which has been empty for quite some time and already have a berried fancy black tiger. I have 7 tanks cycling right now and at this rate I'm going to have stock for all of them once their ready. Need another blue bolt tank, need a tank for michilings before their tanks get over crowded. Louie
TheGardenofEder
I moved a female tiger shrimp into my prl tank. Once she is berried I will move her into my red tibee 20 gallon long tank. I also took an OEBT and moved it into my blue bolt tank. With in seconds a male jumped on her. No berries yet but when she is I'll throw her into my blue tibee tank.
TheGardenofEder
Right now my life is very hetic I'm very greatful I keep shrimp and more so for healthy tanks. I'm going to go back to my old ways and keep 1 type of shrimp per tank this means I need to set up even more tanks. I have big goals for 2016 and so far I'm right on track. I have a lot of support and I couldn't ask for anything more. Soothing Shrimp, Louie and adrand
