DETAquarium
Great start! I am looking forward to the progress, I have looked into that clip light a few times. Let me know how you like it.
Ren
I agree to nice start. Keep us updated on the light I'm thinking of switching my current light. Is this tank going to be a bare bottom tank?
Elo500
The light is a little small for the tank. The goose neck is not long enough to center the light and wish it were a little brighter. Eventually I'll replace it with a 12" light bar. I don't have any gravel in the tank now as I was trying out the Riccia carpet with the wire on the glass however I'm noticing the snails crawling under the wire mesh and it is sliding all over. Ren
How's the tank coming along?
Elo500
I added 10 Tangerine Tigers last week but I'm only seeing 6. I may not have dripped them long enough, they were in crs water and I'm using salty 7.5. The riccia ground cover is starting to take off. The apple snails have laid eggs. Elo500
Did a little clean up on the tank today and moved back the Riccia to have open space up front. Still have not had to trim it. sewoeno and mayphly
DETAquarium
I really like the Riccia carpet. I bet the tigers are enjoying it!
Soothing Shrimp
Pretty Spixi. Too bad they aren't offered more often now that they're illegal to cross state lines. I know some people who have kept them just to make sure hydra don't pop up.
Elo500
I've read the rumors of a mailing restriction on spixi but have not been able to find the actual written legal verbiage. They really do clear out th hydra. Only one of my spixi have laid eggs but has been prolific so I moved the clutches to a nursary tank, a few have hatched already. I just wish my tigers would do the same. h4n
Soothing Shrimp
I used to have some that someone sent me. Ate hydra, and were very prolific. Unfortunately I found out they were illegal in IL and I destroyed them before I got in trouble.
Elo500
That's too bad soothing. I'm having trouble figuring out where spixi ape prohibited. Wish there was a central database for these things. Soothing Shrimp
