maylee
I finally have my new 10G cycled. Now I'm asking for your advice on how I should go about getting the water parameters to a good value. I am using eco-complete substrate. I used RO water from the start with salty shrimp gh/kh. I have a 2.5 gallon jug that I buy my RO in. It remineralizes at a 1/0.5 ratio. So, I pour in just a little over 2ml of the remineralizer into the jug which should give me 6 gH to 3 kH if I'm understanding correctly so that's close enough. As it stands right now, here are my numbers. pH - 7.8 kH - 3 gH - 7 TDS - 131 As for the other numbers, it just finished cycling a couple of days ago. Ammonia and nitrites are 0 and nitrates are high so obviously my next step is to do a water change. using API tests. pH tests light blue every time so I figure it's accurate. Not sure why it's a little on the high side. Other than that, should I try to aim for a little lower kH? or should I just keep using the same remineralizing method? thanks
Elo500
Tiger params can vary. Ask the person you're buying from what they use. But the numbers look good in general.
