Jadenlea
should I be storing it in a cup of distilled water so I dont have to calibrate it each time or SHOULD it hold its calibration for a little while
JamesHe
Never store in distilled water. You need store it in storage solution, which is 3Mol KCl solution.
Shrimple minded
I believe if it dries out it effectively loses its calibration. I reference the below for all things pH meter related. http://www.barrreport.com/forum/barr-report/articles-aa/11067-effective-use-and-care-of-ph-meters-and-probes
JamesHe
Distilled water will dilute probe reference liquid and response time will increase and reading would be unreliable. Keep the probe wet and store is in storage solution.
Jadenlea
just added this to my amazon cart but wanted to make sure its the right thing. Is this what you mean James? Thanks! http://www.amazon.com/Atlas-Scientific-pH-Storage-Solution/dp/B0071AR9XI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1442538539&sr=8-2&keywords=Ph+meter+storage+solution
JamesHe
Yes, that's the correct one. You should check out the first comment. Q: what makes storage solution better than distilled water for storing pH electrodes A: pH probes should never be stored in distilled water; it will cause the salts inside the probe to leech out, rendering it useless. Either storage solution or a buffer solution should be used.

You can store it in the pH 7 buffer solution. Maurice
