corbie
So I just took a peek at my chocolate diamond tank and saw something pretty odd. One of the females I knew to normally be a pretty solid brown now has an almost brilliant red on half of the side of her shell. It's a really beautiful look, and I wish it wasn't 2 am so I could get a good picture. (I don't like using the flash since it seems to spook them pretty badly.) Anyway, she's acting normal and the rest of the colony looks happy and healthy. (First berried female happened yesterday!) There was a molt pretty close to where she was. Can neos change their colors between molts? Is this maybe something that happens after a fresh molt and as her shell hardens it'll go back to its normal color? Or is this a sign of problems? RyeGuy411
I have had a female chocolate that after a couple months turned red then a couple months later turned dark brown again. Seems to be normal and im not sure why it happens.
Soothing Shrimp
They can change color due to multiple factors including stress, water params, and substrate.
