ctaylor3737
Other than the normal removal has anyone tried small amanos in a shrimp tank? I've heard mixed things on them. Have a hair algae problem in one tank can't seem to kick. Its really not that bad but just annoying lol. -Chris
Soothing Shrimp
A seller once told me that he keeps a separate tank just for amanos cleaning up hair algae. He tosses in the plants and then takes them out when done. Don't feed the amanos in that tank.
ctaylor3737
That's a good, idea. I could just put some in my grow, out tank. Only plants in there right now. Maybe I'll try that -Chris
Soothing Shrimp
Yeah. I did that for a while and they did a pretty decent job. Prob was when I fed them they wouldn't touch the hair for a while after..
MassiveDynamic
My solution to hair algae was to reduce lighting (from 12+ hours to around 8) and adding hornwort. I think hornwort produces an algicide.
