Greenteam
Soooo here's a cellphone pic of the Pinto Mischlings that were born roughly 4-5 days ago. The mothers are still caring the black eggs so waiting to see how they turn one once hatched. Find it interesting how the Mischlings form so much faster then the pintos and both carried by the same mother so she only released the ones that were ready If get a larger number build up of Pinto Mischlings might have to post a sale help get the community growing with pintos at fraction of the price I paid lol. Since names for some of the shrimps can very from person to person I seen them listed as Mischlings, Facy Tigers (pinto gene), and even Tibee. So let me know what you guys think I should call my Mischlings so there's no confusion. Shrimple minded, Duff0712 and svetilda
DETAquarium
Congratulations! These would be Pinto Mischlings in my book. These Taitibee resemble pinto pattern, but the coloring has not quite enhanced and/or developed.
Greenteam
So Pinto Mischling mother finally released her black eggs on Monday (Nov 16) took 29 days for them to hatch. The crazy thing is my Pinto Mischlings are breeding machines and shes berried again . I have been working on my Pinto Mischlings for a bit now never allowing them to breed back to Mischling fathers ONLY Pinto fathers. So they finally started producing really good ratios for me. This female produced 4 Mischlings and 12 Pintos. Here's a side by side of the Mother and Father. I was also lucky enough to find 2 Pinto babies she had come out of hiding long enough to snap a picture of two of them. Greenteam
Another female released a batch of young today so and I managed to get a few pics of the new young. Most came out red but had a few blacks mixed in & with both patterns spothead and zebras in both colors. She did leave 2 unhatched eggs after she molted so I will get to test out my new Glass Egg tumbler I got from Han and will keep you guys posted. Here's some pics of the little guys just a few hours old lol. Sandovalsbco and mayphly

Greenteam
Ok so last night I placed two eggs the mom had left behind after she molted into the Glass EggTumbler and this morning I found 1 of the eggs hatched!! Released the hatched one and put back the unhatched one to give it more time. I have tried in the past many times with nets and snails would sneak in at night an eat the eggs or my DIY ones would not have good flow and eggs would grow mold . So I'm super happy to have this new tool in my arsenal since young females run the high risk of molting early and leave eggs behind. Here's a cellphone pic so kinda fuzzy. The one that hatch walked over to the left edge to avoid the flow lol. sarah
Soothing Shrimp
In your opinion, would you even have to take the eggs out of a molt in a tumbler like that?
Greenteam
In your opinion, would you even have to take the eggs out of a molt in a tumbler like that? Removing from the molts seems to help because the molt will start to decompose and can ruin the eggs. Also the eggs get a better flow over them when I remove them from the molt since the molt tends to curl up and can act as an wanted barrier. Greenteam
I don't think I mention this in my last update but I'm playing the waiting game right now since I had 7 females become berried a few days apart from each other. If my estimates are correct they should all be releasing the young around mid to end of Dec meaning I should get a nice X-mas gift from this ladies . Today I tossed in some snowflake to try an get a head count of the young I have and counted roughly 40, but it's so hard because they're constantly on the move and play musical chairs while I'm trying to keep track of who I counted. Not sure if this is true for everyone but I know my Black Pintos produce "culls" that are actually Mosura Blue Bolts so I have roughly 4-5 right now that look solid blue so it's a win win situation in my books. Here's some pics of the young and trying some new things making them grow really fast for me this time around .
Maurice
Lol, that will be a good Christmas gift fore sure Greenteam
Greenteam
So my calculations were close I had 1 of the 8 females release her eggs today. I expect the other ladies will be releasing their young within the next week or two. I end up actually losing 2 older males to age so it was kinda out with old in with the new lol. I still have 3 young guys for the job so no big deal as long as all my ladies are ok I don't mind. Here's some pictures starting with the little guys that just hatch today their really tiny I got one picture of a newborn next to a Limpet for size comparison. Also posting pictures of the other young that are starting to reach that Juvi stage and becoming more bold when it comes to feeding time. On a side note the baby shrimp love the Turkish Hazel they hide in that thing ALL the time. I seen it covered in newly hatch shrimp and my guess if because all the tiny nooks and crannies. mayphly
